Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Jemseg, New Brunswick (currently a redirect to Jemseg) → Jemseg (move · discuss) – MOS:CANPLACE 162 etc. (talk) 00:36, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- Eleonora Cecchini (footballer) (currently a redirect to Eleonora Cecchini) → Eleonora Cecchini (move · discuss) – main link is a re-direct for this person RedPatch (talk) 00:27, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Fugue state (currently a redirect to Dissociative fugue) → Dissociative fugue (move · discuss) – Dissociative fugue has been established as the main name since 2015. jlwoodwa (talk) 23:21, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- Based on the Google Ngrams, the current title appears to be the most common name. Rreagan007 (talk) 02:22, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Rreagan007: Note, however, that MOS:MED says "The article title should be the scientific or recognised medical name that is most commonly used in recent, high-quality, English-language medical sources, rather than a lay term (unscientific or slang name)". I'm sure that that would be "dissociative fugue." The DSM-5 and ICD-11 both use dissociative fugue. SilverLocust 💬 05:17, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Perhaps so, but a full RM discussion is needed to determine that. What is most concerning about the Ngrams results is that in the last 10 years "fugue state" has been increasing in usage dramatically while at the same time "dissociative fugue" has been dropping dramatically. Rreagan007 (talk) 14:45, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- All right. @Jlwoodwa: Would you like to open the request? If not, I would open it with my rationale. SilverLocust 💬 23:37, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Rreagan007: Are you actually disagreeing with the move? Because to me "[i]t seems unlikely that anyone would reasonably disagree with the move." The ICD-11 and DSM-5 are literally the two sources listed at the Manual of Style as examples of reliable sources for diseases. Meanwhile, the Google Ngram shows many novels and such that use "fugue state", but they are not reliable sources even for WP:COMMONNAME. Literally 10/10 of the books listed first for "fugue state" were novels or pseudoscience. (Go to the bottom of your link and click "2017 - 2019".) SilverLocust 💬 00:28, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

- Northcote Lodge School (currently a redirect to Broomwood school) → Broomwood School (currently a redirect instead to Broomwood school) (move · discuss) – School name changed in rebrand SuzieO2608 (talk) 16:13, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- The school's website at [1] suggests this change will happen in September 2023, so at best this is premature. Also needs to show that WP:NAMECHANGES is satisfied. — Amakuru (talk) 16:27, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- Vostok Games (currently a redirect to VG Entertainment) → VG Entertainment (move · discuss) – Company's official announcement:'VG Entertainment Ltd (the head company) announced the decision to discontinue to use the Vostok Games trademark. For now, the studio will be operating under the name of VG Entertainment, and use a new logo. More details: https://vgentertainment.com/our-news/we-become-vg-entertainment/' Coregal (talk) 02:29, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- WP:NAMECHANGE is applicable, until there are third party independent English sources, we then can consider moving to the official name. – robertsky (talk) 10:20, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- Kepler-1544 b (currently a redirect to Kepler-1544b) → Kepler-1544b (move · discuss) – article doesn't use a space Lithopsian (talk) 18:13, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Lithopsian: The sources listed in the article do. – MaterialWorks 19:25, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- Vidisha (actress) (currently a redirect to Vidisha Srivastava) → Vidisha Srivastav (currently a redirect back to Vidisha (actress)) (move · discuss) – Her professional name has always been Vidisha Srivastav. Srivastav is her WPM: COMMON NAME and is used everywhere including social link pages, media accounts and websites. Ulises70+- (talk) 13:35, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ulises70+-: That is not a proper application of WP:COMMONNAME. Gsearches for "Vidisha" "actress" -Wikipedia return orders of magnitude more results than for "Vidisha Srivastav". This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 13:44, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
