Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Portal:Current events/2023 November 7

Reason: High level of disputation. SkylarEstrada (talk) 12:27, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 WXV

Reason: High level of IP good faith edits that have been proven false Mikey'Da'Man, Archangel (talk) 12:38, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted to make way for page move

Indefinite create protection: Repeatedly recreated – This title is widely used as an indicator of page to be deleted in a move request and should be salted as a reminder to prevent pages from actually being moved here. In the case it remains unprotected, the associated editnotice {{Editnotices/Page/Deleted to make way for page move}} should be deleted per WP:G8. Declined, as such mishaps seem to have only happened twice in the past half-year. I'm not sure that they are mishaps, actually: round-robin moves will involve a page being moved to a placeholder title. If this one can serve as that, I don't view it as necessarily a bad thing. Sdrqaz (talk) 23:22, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Calls for the destruction of Israel

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Il-Pal conflict topic. JayCubby wants you to check out his vIsUaLlY aPpEaLiNg uSeRpAgE. cHeCk It oUt! iF yOu aRe BoRiNg, cLiCk (talk) 14:47, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

George of the Jungle (2007 TV series)

Reason: Repeated vandalism by IPs and new users. Johnj1995 (talk) 15:50, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Delhi (1737)

Reason: This is a case of severe vandalism at a high level. Repeatedly, editors are altering the article's content without a proper understanding of the context. This is clearly evident from the discussion page where we've already reached a consensus on the article's content. Unfortunately, there is a lack of effort to prevent the spread of misinformation. Therefore, I kindly request that the page be protected Ajayraj890 (talk) 16:01, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protected indefinitely. Logged under WP:CT/IPA. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:41, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Norfolk International Airport

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Routine unsourced IP edits. RedundancyAdvocate (talk) 17:32, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Environmental health officer

Reason: Persistent disruption. One of many articles being targeted by novice copy editors, with unfortunate results. 2601:19E:4180:6D50:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 18:03, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

William S. Taylor (Kentucky politician)

Reason: Article is becoming a sock drawer; the same editor appears to have vandalized as two different identities and one IP today. Skywatcher68 (talk) 19:10, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined. Request was valid at the time, but given that the article experienced its disruption primarily due to being on the Main Page and there hasn't been disruption in over four hours, there probably isn't much point in protecting it for the 38 or so minutes it has left on the Main Page. Will add it to my watchlist for a while, though. Sdrqaz (talk) 23:22, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dimona

Indefinite extended protection: Arbitration Enforcement. The Night Watch (talk) 19:30, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Muammar Gaddafi

Reason: Persistent edit warring and vandalism by several IP ranges, targeting sensitive topics within the article. The article may also fall under Wikipedia:Arbitration/Index/Palestine-Israel articles, as this leader was closely associated with the Arab–Israeli conflict. Skitash (talk) 19:32, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Checking to see if protection is necessary. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:21, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. I suggest bringing in a third opinion. Please do not edit war, even if you believe you are right. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:26, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kondovo Crisis

Reason: Persistent disruption and edit warring between IPs. StephenMacky1 (talk) 19:36, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protected indefinitely. Logged under WP:CT/EE. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:16, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Japanophilia

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Article has been the target of a persistent Brazil-based IP vandal since September. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 19:52, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

European theatre of World War II

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – POV-pushing by an IP. The Banner talk 20:08, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kaitlin Bennett

Reason: Requesting indefinite ECP under WP:CT/BLP due to relentless BLP violations. (I applied PC protection, but subsequently made edits.) Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:03, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined. Extended-confirmed protection is not necessary when only IPs have been targeting the page. The rate of disruption now is around what pending-changes can deal with, so escalation to semi-protection is not (in my opinion) necessary at the moment. Sdrqaz (talk) 23:22, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mikoyan MiG-29

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – IP hopping user persistently changing the number of Iranian MiG-29s without a source. This has been going on for weeks. ZLEA T\C 22:17, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 2 weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:34, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Whopper (disambiguation)

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent disruptive editing history. 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒎𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔 (talk) 23:08, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Already protected by administrator HJ Mitchell. Sdrqaz (talk) 23:22, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
