Billy[edit]

Billy (talk · contribs) I am Billy. I am an experienced Wikipedia user and I am aiming to become an admin. I have over 1,200 total edits, and over 700 of these are mainspace. I am requesting that people review my edits and other things like that, and tell me what to imporve on. I am currently a member of Wikiproject British and Irish Hills. Thanks! • Yes, you are an experienced Wikipedia user but I was one of the people who opposed in your now closed RfA, I don't quite think you are at a level for adminship yet, I would suggest getting another 3-4 months of contributions and getting your edit up a little, most users would expect at least 2000 for a user on RfA, you could be an admin in the future with some improvements. • Yes, you are a very dedicated vandalism fighter, and a nice person overall. I would like to say, though, that you often lose your calmness, and you have been noted to revert good edits to Wikipedia. I think you should listen to others closely, as even newcomers have something new to share! Good luck, and I hope you have taken what I said into account! • You're a good user, but I want to add two suggestions, of which one is shorten your signature, because I feel it is really long, and I also feel you have too many edits to your userpages, compared to the mainspace. Anyhow, great work with the vandalism. Evilclown93 14:33, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Too many edits to userspace in some cases may be down to articles being worked on there. But then I guess it's obvious through careful peeking at the edit history that that may not always be the case. --Candlewicke (Talk) 19:28, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think you may be over-reactive or hyper-active on vandalism reversion. I do not agree with or understand this reversion of yours: Neel Burton article reversion. I also don't understand what is going on with the Billy / Billy227 confusion, nor do I understand what's up with your masquerading as a Bot (i.e. Shutoff button and other attributes). Your talk page is cluttered with non-standard formatting. I think if you want to be an Administrator, you need to rethink, and go for a more straight-forward, no-nonsense approach. Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am proud of, firstly, my edits to Ben Bulben. these are good quality edits and I am very pleased with my edits there. Also, I am proud of my edits to the Casualties of World War Two article, where I made the long tables collapsible.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Once, I was in an edit war with a vandalizer, Blt-24. He was constantly vandalizing the same image page (the image has since been deleted). I reverted all these edits, and warned him several times. Then, he got angry, and began to put profane and unacceptable comments on my userpage. I reported him to AIV, and he was blocked indefinetly. Throughout this time, even after my userpage was vandalized repeatedly, I remained calm and respectful to the vandal. In the future, I would handle that kind of situation the exact way I did that time.
