Defining "Greater Providence"[edit]
This category was previously scoped to include every county in Rhode Island (not to mention one in one in Massachusetts). It doesn't make sense to have a subcategory which is entirely redundant with the parent category, so I have scaled down the definition to limit it to what I think might be fairly called "Greater Providence".

- Providence
as far north as Central Falls, including Pawtucket- as far west as North Providence and Johnston
- south to the border with Kent County,
including Cranston, and to the border with Bristol County, Rhode Island, including Riverside - east to the border with Bristol County, Massachusetts, including East Providence and Rumford

- Bristol County, Rhode Island
- Barrington
- Other areas (notably Warren, Bristol): use Category:People from Rhode Island

If someone wants to create a category for Bristol or Cumberland, I think there are quite a few people who could be moved into those categories from Category:People from Rhode Island.
