Draft:Economic policies of the GDR

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ok so basically the GDR implemented war communism to ensure that food demands of peasants were met. Grain requisitioning reached an all time high however the peasants were lowkey rebelling because they felt it was unfair. Originally implemented to redistribute food and stop hoarding to prevent, instead the result was no incentive to produce a surplus that could be shared. The communists then pushed to taking all stores and not just surpluses so then there was mass slaughtering of farm animals and burning crops.[1]
