Kypriaka Grammata (Greek: Κυπριακά Γράμματα) was a Cypriot literary magazine, published in Nicosia between 1934-1954.[1]

History[edit]

It began circulating in 15 September 1934, on the initiative of three writers, Antonis Indianos, Kostas Prousis and Nikos Kranidiotis. The cover page was designed by Adamantios Diamantis. The director of the magazine was Kostas Prousis.[2] Some of the aims of the journal were to publish Cypriot writers, the cultivation of the Cypriot dialect as a literary instrument and its scientific study, the collection of material relating to folklore and the preservation of the cultural identity of Cyprus. The journal held a pro-enosis stance.[1]

Important figures of Cypriot literature were featured in its pages, including, Glafkos Alithersis, Leonidas Paulides, Tefkros Anthias, Paulos Liasides, Solon Michaelides, Costas Montis, Kypros Chrysanthis.[2]
