South Indian Education Society (SIES), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest educational societies in Mumbai. SIES has established a high school, a group of arts, science and commerce colleges, along with academic and professional institutions of higher learning with more than 18,000 students.
History[edit]
SIES was established in Mumbai by M. V. Venkateshwaran, with six students, being one of the oldest educational societies in Mumbai.[1] A new SIES Complex at Nerul in Navi Mumbai was inaugurated in 1996.[2]
In 2010, the income tax department raided the premises of the South Indian Education Society and the residences of some of its office-bearers.[3]
