As far as I know English is different from Castilian ("Spanish"), and this is not the Castilian page to have names only in Castilian. Furthermore the latest peer reviewed paper points to Cabrilho being clearly Portuguese. Thus insisting on his Castilian name in an English page and removing the Portuguese name (likely the most correct one) lacks historic-scientific justification. Tag: Manual revert

In 1532 Cabrilho declared to be 35 years old - so why insisting in the error of 1500? What do you mean by "more stable"...older/outdated? Likewise it is not Montalegre, but Lapela de Cabril his birthplace...so why restore mistakes? I am not even touching the nationality issue, though the most recent work points to being Portuguese-born and naturalized Castilian...

Hope this helps to clarify the reliability of the preprint; it seems very well documented, showing archives' original docs, bibliog. etc
