Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as having no substantive content, because... (your reason here) --GawainKeates (talk) 14:37, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Previously, the links in the local elections site point to empty pages for 1973 and 1977. I will update these in good time as I have done for 1981 - I have some of the relevant newspaper articles.

In the meantime, the information is available in the references supplied (with links). If these pages could be replaced with re-directs to the same, that would be fine but in the meantime, anyone wanting to research this information would find the Thrashings and Rawlings Handbooks difficult to find.

Notability[edit]

I tagged this for notability - see top of article. I will be glad to give interested parties several days to add some reliable sources. Otherwise I can't see how this is notable per WP:GNG and/or WP:EVENT. ---Steve Quinn (talk) 03:27, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

County council articles are definitely notable - they are the second highest level of government in England (equivalent to state elections in the US) and as far as I am aware, all previous AfDs on county and district council elections have resulted in a keep result (see this one). This obviously needs improving, but that's not a reason to delete it. Number 57 20:33, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
