Commented out text[edit]

I commented out the 'History' section, not because it was in spanish (presume the intention was to translate it into english shortly), but because the text is an apparent copyvio/word-for-word reproduction of material appearing at the museum's website. Can't link to the text directly 'cos of the way the site is set up, but once you go past the intro screen and click on 'acerca del Museo de Antropología' link, after some animations you'll be able to scroll down some text and see it.

I presume the text was imported from the es.wiki article in good faith, with intention to get it translated. However, I think a translation of the text into english would still be considered within the bounds of copyvio, and at the very least it would be poor form to just parrot what the external website says, particularly without due credit.

The info contained in the text needs to be digested and then originally written into an article format, including info from other sources would be even better. But for now, I recommend against just translating what came from the es.wiki article. Will see about tagging the es.wiki article. --cjllw ʘ TALK 06:43, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
