Rewrite needed[edit]
The examples used are confusing. For instance, some cars can switch between 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive. So how are those cars classified? Surely that would break the hierarchy. Furthermore, I'd argue that 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive aren't classes at all, but attributes of cars.
Also, "The addition of the is-a-subclass-of relationships creates a taxonomy" conflicts with "classes are allowed to have any number of parents (multiple inheritance)." --- I'm not sure I have the expertise to unilaterally edit the article, where it says 'For example, if we extended our example ontology to include concepts like Steering Wheel, we would say that a "Steering Wheel is-by-definition-a-part-of-a Ford Explorer" since a steering wheel is always one of the components of a Ford Explorer. ', this seems very ambiguously worded. While a (functional) Ford Explorer will always have a steering wheel as a component, there exist steering wheels that are NOT components of Ford Explorers. (Sticking with the presented domain, a steering wheel might instead be a component of a Ford Bronco.) In that sense, I don't see it as being accurate to say a "Steering Wheel is-by-definition-a-part-of-a Ford Explorer"; instead, one might say "a Ford Explorer has-as-a-part-by-definition a steering wheel".
