Redirecting to Race[edit]

It's quite common for all-caps terms to redirect to non-caps terms, particularly in disambiguation pages. It's perfectly logical that someone could search for RACE looking for a non-acronym usage, or that someone could search for race or Race looking for an acronym usage. It's not always clear when a term is an acronym, nor is Wikipedia consistent with how articles about acronyms are titled. Also, as I pointed out, in its current state, several of the articles that should logically have been listed here were already listed at Race, indicating that Wikipedia usership was expecting to see those articles at the latter page anyway, and someone who had typed in RACE looking for one of those terms wouldn't find them here. Yes, there are examples of disambiguation pages that are split up into all-caps usages and uncapitalized. That doesn't mean it's the standard. Please see WP:D#Combining terms on disambiguation pages: "A single disambiguation page may be used to disambiguate a number of similar terms. Sets of terms which are commonly so combined include: Terms which differ only in capitalization, punctuation and diacritic marks. For example, the terms Oe, Ōe, OE and O.E. are disambiguated on a single page (Oe)." This is a Wikipedia guideline. If you disagree, you are free to start a discussion to change the guideline, or you can explain why this situation is special and does not apply. My concern is, per the purpose of disambiguation, to make it as easy as possible for the user to find what they're looking for. Since the evidence is that the user is reasonably likely to look for acronymized meanings of "race" at Race, and that they may not find what they're looking for at RACE, and the Race page is not made unreasonably long by combining the two spellings, I believe they are best served by going to a single page that should have their target instead of a smaller page that may not.
