Notability[edit]

Is this department notable enough to warrant a seperate article? If not maybe the content should be merged to the UC Davis main article. At present, the article does not present any evidence of notability. (i.e. any significant coverage in secondary sources.) (TimothyRias (talk) 07:44, 21 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I wonder about that too. WP:AfDing this article might yield insight on how the community at large feels on individual departments of Universities getting their own articles. Verifiability and notability are definetaly met as a standalone article for most university departments, just that having a million departement articles is not really something I want to see on wikipedia. Might be better served by a partner article such as "Faculties and Departments of UC Davis", in which there's a dedicated section for each dept.Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 14:05, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we should bring up the general issue at WT:UNI? (TimothyRias (talk) 14:16, 29 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]
Sounds like a good place to start. Better than AfD if we want an general discussion on these things.Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 04:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
