Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because I do not know why this does not count as "significant" or "credible". All of the information on this page is in the public domain across streaming services and has sources. I don't see how publicly listenable music is not significant. All information on the page is true, and I am not attempting to promote the page as it is not related to me.--HeliumMatrix (talk) 05:58, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, music being "publicly listenable" does not make it significant just by being so. Anyone can make a Spotify artist page and public music to it. As per WP:NOTABILITY, an article is only notable if it has sources that are independent of the subject, of which a Spotify artist page is not. Additionally, the wording of the speedy deletion notice of "credibly indicate" means that besides saying this person is a musical artist, you or any other editor has to specify why this musician in particular is special, or provide a source that says so.
