Does anyone know what the name is of the series with the song run white horses as the theme tune

  • It's called The White Horses [1]. Kappa 12:27, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is there anything to say about white horses from a biological point of view? |l'KF'l| 11:15, Aug 18, 2004 (UTC)
  • This is an interesting question - there are indeed some comments that could be made - a 'white' horse is usually called a 'grey'. They are prone to tumours, called melanomas. Is this the sort of thing that could go in? - There could also be a small section on famous white horses (e.g. Napoleon rode a white horse, the song Widdecombe Fair and Lady Godiva?) • A white horse may also be a derogatory colloquialism describing a person who, due to social class receive covert preferential treatment in an institutional setting. Should this be added?

Cleanup[edit]

This disambiguation page was marked for cleanup per MoS:DAB. Since a lot of entries were removed (see below), I copy the now-invisible comment:

This is a disambiguation page linking to pages that may also be called "White Horse" or are very closely associated otherwise (MoS:DAB). This page is NOT a wiki article about White Horses in popular culture (i.e. where the words "White Horse" are mentioned), and it is not a place for advertising for things that will never have a proper wiki article.

Removed for non-notability or for just not belonging on a disambiguation page:

  • A white horse is depicted as the loyal mount of Prince Charming in fairy tale literature
  • In Christian tradition, a white horse is ridden by one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
  • The white wind-blown caps of sea waves are often described as white horses, for example in the Beaufort scale windforce 5 is described as "Moderate waves, many white horses".
  • The heraldic signs of both Kent and the House of Hanover contain a white horse
  • Referenced in Blind Lemon Jefferson's song See That My Grave Is Kept Clean recorded in 1928. The precursor to references by both Bob Dylan in his version of the song of the same name and also Beck's. "I got two white horses following me, Waiting on my burying ground."
  • Referenced in Beck's song Farewell Ride. "Two white horses in a line, carrying me to my burying ground."
  • Referenced in Jeff Buckley's song Mojo Pin. "I'm blind and tortured, the white horses flow."
  • Tori Amos makes references to White Horses in two songs. The first one is on "Winter": ""All the white horses are still in bed/All the white horses have gone ahead" and the second one, in the song Horses. "The record (Boys For Pele) begins with the white horses from Winter coming back to take me on this journey and we ride and go find the demons..." -- Tori; Making Music, Jan 1996

Removed because i was not able to establish notability (copy them back if you have a link to a wiki article that mention them, or write the article yourself):

white horse bank?[edit]

In Romania there is a café called White Horse, the logo of this café is exactly the same as the logo of the White Horse bank in the history comics of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa, since many historical things in these comics by Don Rosa have some truly stuff in it, does anyone know if such bank ever existed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.124.250.203 (talk) 18:53, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
