Ed!'s WikiProject United States Army History

Ed!'s WikiProject US Army History is a one-man WikiProject undertaken by the user Ed! to systematically improve articles related to all major formations of the United States Army battalion strength or greater, with coordinated assistance from fellow Wikipedians. Anyone and everyone who is willing to assist in this project is greatly appreciated!

Background

The United States Army has organized and activated hundreds of units in its extensive history of service to the United States. These units have rich and dynamic histories ranging back over 200 years. Unfortunately, most US Army unit articles on Wikipedia are a mess; either they are transcriptions of information from assorted US Army websites or unsourced narratives from veterans and overzealous historians. This is not acceptable.

Officially, the overall goal of this personal project is to assist in the coordinated enhancement of the article of every US Army unit battalion size and larger to featured article status. While this user is happy to enhance as many articles as possible personally, time constraints make it impossible for one person to accomplish this objective, so cooperation with other Wikipedians is essential. It is an ongoing work to enhance as many unit articles as possible as information becomes available. It is also an effort to support fellow Wikipedians as they seek to promote unit articles, and to volunteer my services to anyone whose article projects coincide with the goals of this user.

Hall of Fame

My ongoing effort to promote US Army units to Good Article, A-class and Featured Article status have involved a lot of work from a lot of people, but have meet with sucess thanks to extensive contributions on my part, as well as a lot of help from other wikipedians. Here are the articles that have been sucessfully promoted thanks to everyone's contributions.

My work on a page is never done until it is a Featured Article. It is my opinion that every US Army unit article can reach this goal eventually, and if there are any units you would like my help in improving, please let me know.
