Option 1[edit]

Article title

Nomophobia

Article Evaluation

  • Is the article's content relevant to the topic? Yes
  • Is it written neutrally? No, not necessarily. At one point within the article the author writes " Nomophobia is a humorous word for the fear of, or anxiety caused by, not having a working mobile phone." This seems like a very subjective comment that is not as neutral as one would've hoped.
  • Does each claim have a citation? Yes, but they do lack in overall medical citations. However, this might not be the authors fault.
  • Are the citations reliable? Yes

Option 2[edit]

Article title

Stranger anxiety

Article Evaluation

  • Is the article's content relevant to the topic? Yes, very much so.
  • Is it written neutrally? In my quick read it seemed as if the article was pretty neutral. At times I did notice a hint of psychodynamic bias, but that might of been on my end.
  • Does each claim have a citation? In the introduction most of the claims have a citation, but as the article develops citations begin to wane.
  • Are the citations reliable? Most looked good at a glance, but I would have to go back and look over each article in particular.

Option 3[edit]

Article title

Glossophobia

Article Evaluation

  • Is the article's content relevant to the topic? The article is not very relevant, considering that it covers an anxiety disorder experienced by many people.
  • Is it written neutrally? No the person who wrote it sounds like a student. This student's writing sounded very biased, almost as if it was apart of a research project that this student was working on.
  • Does each claim have a citation? No, definitely not.
  • Are the citations reliable? Some are, but most of them are not.
