Public toilets in Slovakia are relatively numerous at 17 per 100,000 people.

Public toilets[edit]

The local word for public toilet is toaleta.[1]

A 2021 study found there were 17 public toilets per 100,000 people.[2] The most common type of toilet is a sit toilet, and they often lack toilet paper.[1] The typical charge to use a public toilet is €0.50.[1]

There is a Euro Key, which allows people with disabilities to have it to access 12,000 otherwise locked public toilets in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Switzerland.[3]

Toilets: A Spotter’s Guide features more than 100 of the world’s best bogs published in 2016 included a public toilet at the UFO Bar in Bratislava.[4]
