Mudanakuzhiyil Abraham Varughese, popularly known in the Pentecostalism Christendom as "Rev. Dr. M A Varughese" or MAV (born 4 November 1946) is an evangelical, revival & motivational speaker, publisher, Founder President of Bethel Gospel Team and Senior Pastor of Bethel Assembly of God Church,[1] in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
Early life[edit]
M A Varughese was born on October 4, 1946, in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India, the third of three children born to “Pastor Uncles Father’s Name” and “Pastor Uncles Mother’s Name”. At the age of 12, he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and accepted water baptism. He faced [[Persecution of Christians|persecution from family, community and the society for embracing Pentecostal faith at a young age.[1] [2] [3] In 1965 after his basic educations he joined the Indian Air Force and served at various locations in India. 1975, Rev Varughese was selected by the Government of India for pursuing higher studies on Microwave and Digital Technology at WJ, Maryland, USA.[2] M A Varughese while working in the armed forces, was also appointed as the pastor-in-charge of Bethel AG Church with a total of 22 members. In the due course many new branch churches were formed [2] 1991, Rev. M A Varughese resigned from the Indian Air Force while serving as a Junior Research Scientist to pursue a full-time ministry work.

M. A. Varughese is the Senior Pastor of Bethel AG Church in Bangalore, India, a megachurch affiliated to Assemblies of God, with worship services conducted in different places and several languages. [4] [5] [6]
Personal life[edit]
On June 18, 1971, M A Varughese married, Aleyamma. Together, the couple has two children, four grandchildren.
Cancer[edit]
In 2017, M A Varughese was treated for stage 1 Esophageal cancer, but has since recovered.[7]
