List of episodes

"Stormy Weather" (French: Climatika; Korean: 분노의 폭풍 (transl. Raging Storm)) is the first episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on 1 September 2015 on South Korea's Educational Broadcasting System; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 19 October 2015, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 20 December 2015 as the third episode.

Plot[edit]

Aurore Beauréal and Mireille Caquet are the two finalists for a weather girl competition held by children's TV channel KIDZ+. Mireille wins by a landslide, which causes host Alec Cataldi to mock Aurore's loss. She stomps out of the studio and takes refuge in the elevator, where she rants to herself that she should've won.

From his lair, the supervillain Hawk Moth detects Aurore's rage. He sends out an akuma, a butterfly corrupted with evil energy, to "akumatize" her into the villainess Stormy Weather, who can fly and control the weather using the parasol that contains the akuma. She freezes Mireille in a block of ice and flies out into the Paris sky, intending to erase all traces of Mireille and her fans.

Meanwhile, budding fashion designer Marinette Dupain-Cheng struggles to control Manon Chamack, the girl she babysits. She is suddenly visited by her best friend, vlogger Alya Césaire, who tells her that her crush, model Adrien Agreste, is having a photoshoot at the Place des Vosges. Despite Marinette's protests, Alya convinces her to visit along with Manon.

At the park, Marinette juggles between taking care of Manon and attempting to ask Adrien out. Her plans change when Stormy Weather arrives, leaving Manon and Alya alone at a carousel (note that there are no carousels at the Place des Vosges in real life) when it is frozen in ice. She calls upon her mystical companion, the kwami Tikki, who flies into her Ladybug Miraculous, her earrings, transforming her into the superheroine Ladybug. Adrien also uses his Black Cat Miraculous, his ring, whose kwami is named Plagg, to transform into the hero Cat Noir.

Ladybug and Cat Noir try to fight Stormy Weather, dodging her attacks of wind, thunderstorms, and black ice. Throughout the fight, Adrien's love for Ladybug makes him act sassily towards her; unaware of his true identity, she staunchly rejects his advances. They discover Stormy Weather's identity at the KIDZ+ building, where she knocks out the power. Cat Noir uses his night vision to help Ladybug to the top of the tower, where the main fight begins.

Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm ability to weaken the supports of three massive billboards, distracting Stormy. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a towel, which she uses as a parachute to help her float up to the hovering villain. She breaks Stormy's parasol, freeing the akuma, and returning Aurore to normal. Throwing the towel in the air, Ladybug activates her Miraculous Ladybug ability, which reverts all of Stormy's effects. She and Cat Noir celebrate with a fist-bump.

Later, Marinette reunites with her friends. She volunteers to model in the photoshoot with Adrien, but the photographer chooses Manon instead.

Production[edit]

This episode was the first episode of Miraculous Ladybug to be produced. According to Suji Jung, an animator at the South Korea-based SAMG Animation, its production was handled as a "test run", setting the standard for the show's animation quality. It, along with six other episodes from the show's first season, were created with a "more expensive" animation software, and had a higher frame rate and level of modelling and attention to detail than other episodes.[13]

The sixth version of the episode's storyboard, as released by Thomas Astruc,[14] closely resembles the final product, with the exception of a few minor differences in the script and the role of Alec Cataldi being given to a teenage boy named Alec Dotte.[15]

Reception[edit]

As of 2015, "Stormy Weather" was viewed by approximately 1.47 million U.S. households.[16][needs update]

List of episodes

"The Evillustrator" (French: Le Dessinateur; (transl. The Cartoonist)) is the second episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on France's TFOU on 26 October 2015 as the seventh episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 24 January 2016 as the eighth episode.

Plot[edit]

Super Nathan, a superhero armed with a graphics tablet that can draw and erase objects in real life, rescues Marinette from Stormy Weather and Lady Wifi, the smartphone-themed akumatized form of Alya. He confesses his love and she reciprocates his feelings.

However, it is all just a dream, made up by shy, artistic student Nathaniel Kurtzberg. Science teacher Olga Mendeleiev catches him falling asleep in class and sends him to the principal's office. School bully Chloé Bourgeois also discovers a love confession to Marinette in the form of a comic in his sketchbook, and mocks him for it. Angered, he is akumatized by Hawk Moth into the Evillustrator, an evil version of Super Nathan, and intends to get revenge on Chloé.

Meanwhile, Marinette is disappointed when she is paired with Chloé and the latter's friend Sabrina Raincomprix for a science project. Marinette dislikes how Chloé treats Sabrina like a slave, forcing her to do all of Chloé's homework. Marinette tries to change Sabrina's behavior, but her plans are disrupted when the Evillustrator attacks.

Ladybug and Cat Noir try to fight the Evillustrator and his living drawings, but he escapes. They go to Chloé's house, a suite at Le Grand Paris, her father's luxury hotel, to understand the villain's intentions, but Ladybug is disgusted by Chloé's behavior and decides to go home.

The Evillustrator finds the detransformed Marinette and explains that it is his birthday, inviting her to a date on the River Seine, promising not to hurt Chloé if she accepts; she reluctantly does so. After a brief encounter with Sabrina, Cat Noir offers to protect Marinette, and the two strike up a plan to defeat Evillustrator.

Later that night, the Evillustrator draws a barge to hold the date, although Hawk Moth tries to stop him by making his arm hurt. Feigning interest, Marinette attempts to grab the stylus that contains the akuma. Cat Noir later reveals himself, causing the Evillustrator to realize the deception. He traps Cat Noir and Marinette in a box and erases a hole in the ship's hull, but they manage to escape before it sinks.

They track the villain to Chloé's room, where the final showdown begins. As the Evillustrator creates giant boxing gloves and buzzsaws, the heroes remember that the villain's tablet is disabled when not exposed to light. Cat Noir tries to Cataclysm the light switch in order to short out the lights, but Evillustrator erases it before Cat Noir can hit (although this does not break the circuit as it would realistically do). Ladybug's Lucky Charm creates a bouncy ball that breaks all the light fixtures in the room, allowing the heroes to defeat the Evillustrator and return everything to normal.

The next day, Chloé and Sabrina are back to their normal ways. Marinette absent-mindedly compliments Adrien, who touches her on the shoulder, much to her delight.

Production[edit]

Although this episode was produced second, it features a cameo by Lady Wifi, a villain that will be introduced in "Lady Wifi", which was produced third. It is possible that this episode was conceptualized after "Lady Wifi", or that the character's inclusion was added in a later stage of "The Evillustrator"'s production.

The comic covers in Nathaniel's sketchbook are based on The Mini Menace Ladybug, a series of fake comics created by Thomas Astruc which eventually evolved into Miraculous Ladybug.

The episode was animated by South Korea-based SAMG Animation.[11]

As of 2016, "The Evillustrator" was viewed by approximately 1.18 million U.S. households.[12][needs update]

"Lady Wifi" (Korean: 내 친구 알리야; (transl. My Friend Alya)) is the third episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on 6 October 2015 on South Korea's Educational Broadcasting System as the sixth episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 22 October 2015 as the fourth episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 17 January 2016 as the seventh episode.

Plot[edit]

Alya attempts to find out who Ladybug is, unaware she is Marinette, who is currently absent due to being on a mission as Ladybug. After class, Alya notices a Ladybug costume in Chloé's locker, making Alya's suspicions fall on her.

The next day, Alya attempts to take a photo of Chloé's locker for evidence, only to be caught. Alya and Chloé are sent to the office of Principal Denis Damocles, where Chloé successfully blackmails him into suspending Alya. Enraged, she is akumatized by Hawk Moth into Lady Wifi, who can fire magical icons using the smartphone that contains the akuma, and intends to expose Chloé.

Marinette arrives late to school, which gets her sent to the principal's office as well. There, she sees Mr. Damocles frozen in place with a stop icon on him. Lady Wifi then broadcasts a message to all the school's computers, explaining that she stopped Mr. Damocles over his perceived bias and that she will unmask Ladybug next.

Later that night, Ladybug and Cat Noir catch Lady Wifi in Chloé's apartment, where they realize she has mistaken Chloé, a fan of Ladybug who often cosplays as her, for the real hero. Angered by the deception, Lady Wifi goes after the real heroes. They lure her down the emergency exit to the basement of the hotel, reasoning the lack of a Wi-Fi signal will weaken her powers. However, she realizes their plan and leaves to set a trap.

She locks all the doors with lock icons, luring the heroes to the restaurant, whose door remains open. The heroes try to attack her, but she evades them by teleporting through a series of phones on the tables. Ladybug smashes them, forcing Lady Wifi to lure her into the kitchen.

Lady Wifi binds Ladybug to the wall and attempts to unmask her on camera, but she fails. Cat Noir arrives via the dumbwaiter to rescue Ladybug, but Lady Wifi locks him in the freezer, where his ring falls off, making him detransform. Lady Wifi goes to the hotel's roof to broadcast Ladybug's plight to all of Paris, unlocking Ladybug's hands in the process.

Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a frozen meal. She heats it in the microwave and uses the microwave radiation to jam the Wi-Fi signal locking the freezer, allowing Cat Noir to escape. Cat Noir goes to the roof to tackle Lady Wifi, and Cataclysms the antenna to disable the rest of her spells, including the lock on the kitchen door. Ladybug soon joins him and manages to defeat Lady Wifi and return everything to normal.

The heroes leave to detransform in peace, as using their special abilities makes them detransform after a few minutes. Cat Noir almost tries to peek at Ladybug but decides against it, declaring that their identities must remain a secret, a sentiment shared by Marinette and Tikki.

The next day, Alya gets a new phone. She tells Marinette that she now believes Adrien could be Cat Noir, unaware that it is true.

"Princess Fragrance" (French: Princesse Fragrance) is the fourth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast in French on 13 March 2016 on Canada's Télé-Québec as the twenty-fifth episode before premiering on France's TFOU on 20 March 2016 as the twenty-second episode. The English dub was first aired on Disney Channel in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 9 April 2016 as the fifteenth episode, and premiered in the United States on Nicktoons on 14 May 2016 as the fourteenth episode.

Plot[edit]

On a stormy morning, Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat the Magician of Misfortune, the magician-themed akumatized form of side character Jean Duparc. This not only results in Adrien and Marinette being late to school, but also in Tikki getting sick.

Later in chemistry class, bubbly, optimistic student Rose Lavillant watches a video about a toy drive at a children's hospital, sponsored by the visiting Prince Ali of the Kingdom of Achu. Touched by his selflessness, Rose writes a letter to him, spraying it with perfume. This prompts an angry response from Olga Mendeleiev, who reminds the class about the flammability of perfume.

When Adrien arrives at school, Marinette attempts to greet him, only to trip and unknowingly launch the comatose Tikki out of her pocket. Chloé and Sabrina find the kwami, thinking that she is a toy, and intend to donate her to the Prince. Rose suggests that Chloé also forward her letter, but Chloé mocks her, tearing the letter apart. Heartbroken, Rose is akumatized by Hawk Moth into Princess Fragrance; armed with a magic perfume gun that contains the akuma, she intends to marry Prince Ali.

Marinette follows Chloé to Le Grand Paris, where Prince Ali is staying, in an attempt to rescue Tikki. Surrounded by guests, Chloé manages to give Tikki to Prince Ali. Unknown to everyone, Princess Fragrance has forced her entry. She sprays Chloé with a fish smell and uses a pink perfume spray to brainwash the guests into serving her.

Cat Noir arrives and evacuates Prince Ali, his chaperone, and Chloé. Princess Fragrance intercepts their car and fills it with mind-control perfume; in the chaos, Tikki falls onto the car floor, allowing Marinette to rescue her. She takes Tikki to Master Wang Fu, the guardian of the Miraculous jewels, to have her healed, not knowing his true nature.

Princess Fragrance takes Prince Ali to the Pont des Arts, but before they can tie a love lock signifying their marriage, Ladybug interrupts them. The villainess sends her brainwashed servants – including Cat Noir – to fight Ladybug. She then creates a giant cloud of perfume the size of Paris, intending to brainwash the entire city.

Ladybug spots a boat loaded with fireworks on the Seine; remembering her science lesson, she tricks Cat Noir into using his Cataclysm on the controls, launching all the rockets and dispelling the cloud. Later, she confronts Princess Fragrance and uses a Lucky Charm balloon to block the perfume gun, allowing her to defeat Princess Fragrance and return everything to normal.

Rose, unaware of her actions as a villain, is pleasantly surprised to see herself next to Prince Ali. Ladybug leaves the two together to visit the children's hospital and watch a fireworks show.

"Dark Cupid" (French: Le Dislocœur; transl. The Heartbreaker) is the fifth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on France's TFOU on 29 October 2015 as the tenth episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 7 April 2016 as the tenth episode.

Plot[edit]

It is Valentine's Day and Marinette's class is having an English lesson about fairy tales. While the teacher, Ms. Caline Bustier, stresses the importance of love in these stories, Adrien composes a love letter to Ladybug, but he throws it away. After class, Marinette discovers the letter, incorrectly assuming it is about her, and not her alter ego.

After school, class whiz and child prodigy Max Kanté hands athletic student Lê Chiến Kim a brooch he must deliver to a secret crush at a certain meeting point. Inspired by this, Alya suggests that Marinette make her own declaration of love. She decides to write a response to Adrien's love letter, but forgets to sign it when a ladybug enters her room and lands on the card.

A few minutes later, Kim arrives at the Pont des Arts, ready to meet his crush, who turns out to be Chloé. After a series of humiliating moments, Chloé takes a picture of him with trash in his face, then rejects him. Angered, Kim is akumatized by Hawk Moth into Dark Cupid, an evil version of the mythical figure whose arrows spread hate and negativity, intending to erase all traces of love in the world.

Marinette and Alya get heart-shaped candy apples at the former's family pâtisserie, but Dark Cupid spots them, infecting Alya. Marinette notices Kim's akumatized brooch holding his quiver, which causes her to realize the villain's identity.

Ladybug tries reasoning with Dark Cupid, but he stands firm in his decision. Cat Noir arrives, but instead of helping in the fight, he attempts to affirm his love to Ladybug. However, before he can finish saying "I love you", Dark Cupid strikes him, causing his lips to turn black and his love to be replaced by hate. He starts running away from Ladybug and declaring that "hate conquers all". Remembering her English lesson, Ladybug counters by saying love should win, which makes her realize that to break the spell, she must kiss Cat Noir.

Cat Noir allies with Dark Cupid, with the former curiously deciding to use his Cataclysm on Ladybug. Her Lucky Charm creates a candy apple which she uses to stick the latter's hands together, rendering him unable to fire arrows. Finally, at the Fontaine du Palmier, Ladybug manages to kiss Cat Noir, breaking the spell and erasing all his memories of being bewitched. He uses his still-unused Cataclysm on Dark Cupid's quiver strap, then throws the brooch to Ladybug for her to break. With Kim returned to normal, Ladybug is able to revert his effects.

Later, despite her reservations, Marinette decides to mail her letter to Adrien. He is touched by it, but without a signature, doesn't know who it is from. A ladybug lands on the card, making him wonder it is from the heroine herself, unaware it is true in an ironic way.

"Mr. Pigeon" (French: M. Pigeon; Korean: 비둘기 신사의 역습"; (transl. Counterattack of Mr. Pigeon)) is the sixth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on South Korea's Korea Educational Broadcasting System on 29 September 2015 as the fifth episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 23 October 2015 as the sixth episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 13 December 2015 as the second episode.

Plot[edit]

Marinette's school, Collège François Dupont, hosts a fashion design competition judged by fashion designer Gabriel Agreste; the winner will have their design modeled by his son, Adrien. Marinette wishes to enter but loses enthusiasm upon finding out the theme is derby hats, which she has never designed before; however, Adrien's encouragement motivates her to join.

She goes to the Trocadéro to find inspiration. She witnesses Xavier Ramier, a pigeon-loving man, excitedly feeding his animal friends, giving her the idea to make a pigeon-themed hat. Unknown to her, Chloé and Sabrina have been spying on her, intending to plagiarize her design in order to gain Adrien's favor.

Some time later, police officer Roger Raincomprix writes Ramier off, as feeding pigeons is illegal in Paris. Despite Ramier's objections, he is kicked out of the park. Dejected, he is akumatized by Hawk Moth into Mr. Pigeon, who can control and talk to pigeons using the bird call that contains the akuma. He intends to get revenge on the police and the park keepers; as his first order of business, he spirits Officer Raincomprix away with a swarm of pigeons.

That afternoon, as Marinette finishes making her hat, she realizes she forgot to add a feather. She returns to the Trocadéro to find one, but finds the streets choked with pigeons. Mr. Pigeon makes an announcement on the news, causing her to realize the villain's existence.

Cat Noir approaches Ladybug and informs her about the disappearance of several park keepers. He volunteers to pass himself off as a park ranger in an effort to locate Mr. Pigeon. Sure enough, a pigeon notices them and reports their location to the villain. A ball of pigeons quickly swarms Cat Noir and soon the heroes are trapped in a bird cage atop Le Grand Paris. Using his Cataclysm, Cat Noir destroys the cage, but Mr. Pigeon escapes on a flock of pigeons.

After replenishing Plagg's energy with camembert, Cat Noir and Ladybug follow the missing park rangers to the Grand Palais. They intend to catch Mr. Pigeon by surprise, but Cat Noir sneezes due to his feather allergy, revealing them. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a coin, which she uses to buy popcorn from a vending machine. The food distracts the pigeons, rendering Mr. Pigeon vulnerable. Ladybug successfully defeats him and undoes his effects.

Later, at the fashion show, Marinette and Chloé present strikingly similar designs. Although Chloé tries to frame Marinette as the thief, the latter reveals that hers is signed while Chloé's is not. Gabriel, seeing Marinette's professionalism, declares her the winner.

"Pixelator" (French: Numéric; transl. Digital) is the seventh episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast in French on Canada's Télé-Québec on 3 March 2016 as the twentieth episode before premiering on France's TFOU on 13 March 2015 as the twenty-first episode. The English dub was first aired on ABC Me in Australia on 25 April 2015 as the twenty-fifth episode, and premiered in the United States on Nickelodeon on 27 August 2016 as the nineteenth episode.

Plot[edit]

Marinette's class interns at Le Grand Paris, with each student trying out a different job. Marinette is assigned to be a "gopher", in the sense of someone who does errands for a guest.

Her client today is famous rockstar Jagged Stone, his talent agent Penny Rolling, and his pet crocodile Fang. The moment they enter, Jagged is accosted by Vincent Aza, a photographer who is a big fan of him. He takes a quick photo of Jagged, but Penny reprimands him, knowing that he is a stalker who has pursued Jagged for years. Frustrated, Vincent is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "Pixelator"; using the camera that contains the akuma, he can trap the people he takes pictures of in photographs.

Jagged Stone tasks Marinette with buying special glasses for his upcoming concert. She doesn't find the specific design he requested, so she improvises them based on the pair she was able to buy. After giving them to Penny, Pixelator arrives. He captures Penny then announces his intention to go after Jagged.

Ladybug charges in to fight Pixelator, but her right arm is indirectly hit by his camera beam, making it pixelated and intangible. Despite this, she manages to airlift Jagged Stone to safety. Hawk Moth commands Pixelator to go after Ladybug, but when he refuses, he physically controls Pixelator's body to force him to obey.

Later, Ladybug locates Vincent's apartment and discovers it is full of Jagged Stone memorabilia. She also notices a wall of photos of Pixelator's victims, including Adrien and Chloé. Startlingly, the victims are still alive, able to move across their endless white background and even talk to Ladybug when she looks at their photos.

As Pixelator continues to capture innocent Parisians, Ladybug makes a deal: if he frees half of his victims, she will allow him to have an exclusive photoshoot with Jagged Stone. Despite Hawk Moth's warning, Pixelator agrees, freeing several people, including Adrien.

Cat Noir attempts to destroy Pixelator's camera, but he is accidentally sent back to the photo world. He uses his Cataclysm on the background itself, destroying the entire dimension and freeing the rest of the captured victims. He returns just in time to see Jagged Stone stalling Pixelator, giving the heroes the perfect chance to defeat him. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a compact mirror that reflects Pixelator's beam, trapping him. She then uses her Miraculous Ladybug to restore her arm, allowing her to purify the akuma into a normal butterfly.

Later that night, Adrien and Marinette watch Jagged Stone's concert. The latter is surprised when the singer dedicates a song to Ladybug.

The episode's synopsis on the Gloob app makes reference to the title character being called "Billy", while his idol is named "Jean Haprèle". This may be a reference to a possible early version of the script; the character of Jean may have been retooled into Fred Haprèle, the antagonist of "The Mime".

In the original French dub, Jagged Stone is given an American accent; this is changed in the English dub to a British accent. This may have been done to keep his accent foreign, and possibly to make him resemble real-world rock stars such as Mick Jagger or the Rolling Stones.

The episode was animated by South Korea-based SAMG Animation.[14]

"Copycat" (French: L'Imposteur; (transl. The Impostor); Korean: 두 명의 블랙캣; (transl. Two Black Cats)) is the eighth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on South Korea's Korea Educational Broadcasting System on 15 September 2015 as the third episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 28 October 2015 as the ninth episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 3 January 2016 as the fifth episode.

Plot[edit]

At the Place des Vosges, a young sculptor named Théo Barbot unveils a statue he made of Ladybug. He longs to meet her and wants her to autograph the photo he used as a reference for the statue.

Meanwhile, Alya tries to help Marinette overcome her shyness when talking to Adrien. She hesitantly declines, but Alya forces her to do it. Instead of reading a script as planned, Marinette awkwardly explains her situation, confessing her crush in the process. When she realizes what she just said, she tries to delete her message, but she fails and it gets sent straight to Adrien's voicemail.

Luckily, Adrien doesn't hear the message, as he transforms into Cat Noir in order to attend the unveiling ceremony. Théo is saddened when Ladybug doesn't arrive, making Cat Noir realize that he is in love with her. Cat Noir half-jokingly tells Théo about his romance, unknowingly making the sculptor jealous. He is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "Copycat", an exact copy of Cat Noir with the latter's exact powers, and intends to frame the original.

In an effort to restore her dignity, Marinette goes to the school and secretly steals Adrien's phone, intending to delete the voicemail from there. However, she finds herself unable to unlock it. Her attempts are interrupted when Alya tells her that Cat Noir has stolen the Mona Lisa, prompting her to transform into Ladybug to investigate.

Cat Noir arrives at the Louvre in order to clear things up with the police, but they lock him inside the museum, thinking that he is the thief. He escapes and manages to inform Ladybug about it. She arrives at the museum in order to confront the police, but they refuse her help.

Realizing the impostor is Théo, Cat Noir tracks him to his studio. Copycat chains the hero, who activates his Cataclysm; however, Copycat forces him to waste it on a random wooden plank. He then steals the hero's weaponized staff, which doubles as a communicator, in order to lure Ladybug and her Miraculous to him.

Ladybug at first has trouble telling who is who, but she manages to bluff Copycat. The latter activates Cataclysm, intending to use it on Ladybug, but she manages to redirect it to Cat Noir's chains. Now freed, Cat Noir joins Ladybug in the fight.

Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a spoon. After some careful thinking, she combines Cat Noir's staff with her own weaponized yo-yo to create a makeshift fishing rod, using the spoon as a hook. She catches Copycat by the belt, suspending him from the ceiling. This allows her to capture the akuma, which is contained a photo stored in the villain's pocket – the very same one he wanted her to sign. She then uses her Miraculous Ladybug, undoing the villain's effects and restoring the photo, which she signs much to Théo's delight.

After apologizing to the sculptor, Marinette manages to unlock Adrien's phone and deletes the voicemail. She then returns it the following day.

The episode was animated by South Korea-based SAMG Animation.[12]

Release[edit]

The episode did not air on the pan-Arabian channel MBC 3. This may be because of the implied romantic relationships between Théo and Ladybug; despite being officially confirmed to be sixteen to eighteen,[13] Théo's character model resembles an older man, so their relationships could appear to be pedophilia.

"The Bubbler" (French: Le Bulleur; Korean: 어른들을 돌려줘; (transl. Bring Back the Adults) is the ninth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on South Korea's Korea Educational Broadcasting System on 8 September 2015 as the second episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 20 October 2015 as the second episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 6 December 2015 as the first episode.

Plot[edit]

It is Adrien's birthday and Marinette is naturally excited; however, Adrien himself is not. His only birthday gift is a piece of camembert from Plagg, which he doesn't like, and Gabriel would not let him have a birthday party. Instead, he is asked to act as if it's a normal day.

At school, Adrien tells his best friend, disc jockey Nino Lahiffe, about his situation. Marinette attempts to give him a gift she made herself, but despite coaxing from Alya, she suffers a panic attack, making Chloé push her away. Adrien suddenly leaves for a photoshoot, disappointing Marinette and influencing Nino to confront Adrien's father.

Alya and Marinette visit the Agreste family's mansion, where they drop the gift off. However, because it is not signed, Adrien's assistant Nathalie Sancoeur claims it is from his father, in order to save herself the trouble of buying a gift for herself. Meanwhile, Nino tries to convince Gabriel to allow Adrien to have a party, but his informal, "surfer dude" speech and mannerisms cause Gabriel to see him as a bad influence. He reaffirms his decision not to hold the party and banishes Nino from the house.

Angered, Nino is akumatized by Hawk Moth into the "Bubbler", who can control massive soap bubbles. Believing that parents want to stop kids from having fun, he imprisons all adults in bubbles that slowly float into space, then explains his intentions through holograms projected on bubbles.

Ladybug tracks the Bubbler to the Agreste mansion, where a birthday party is being held for Adrien. All his classmates are there, but they are less than enthusiastic; it is obvious that they simply do not want to be captured by the Bubbler, who is acting as the DJ. Chloé asks him to change the music in order for her and Adrien to have a slow dance, which makes Ladybug jealous. She uses her Lucky Charm to create a vinyl record and throws it at the DJ booth, interrupting the dance.

Ladybug detransforms and Tikki scolds her for using her power selfishly. She replenishes her kwami's energy with a cookie then goes inside the mansion to sign her present. The Bubbler then captures a student for not dancing, forcing Ladybug and Cat Noir to fight him.

The heroes struggle to dodge the storm of bubbles created by the villain, ending up captured in a big one. They float hundreds of feet in the air and only escape when Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm on the bubble. They confront the Bubbler back at the mansion, where he captures the kids in order for them to join their parents. He then flies off to the Eiffel Tower, where the main fight begins.

As the Bubbler creates explosive bubbles, Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a wrench. She uses it to puncture an HVAC pipe, allowing the escaping air to deflect the bubbles. The Bubbler then raises his enlarged bubble wand, ready to strike, but Ladybug breaks it and captures the akuma inside. She then uses her Miraculous Ladybug, returning all the victims and restoring Nino to normal.

The next day, Adrien arrives at school wearing Marinette's gift: a hand-knitted scarf. He believes it is from his father, since Nathalie removed the Post-It containing Marinette's signature, but she doesn't correct him in order to ensure his happiness.

When Alya and Marinette drop the latter's gift off at the Agreste mansion, they are greeted by Nathalie using an extendable intercom camera. This scene is a reference to Return of the Jedi.[17]

The slow dance scene marks the first in-show appearance of an unnamed romantic song. It is somewhat similar to Toto's song "I Won't Hold You Back", but it is unknown if the similarities are coincidental or not.

The episode was animated by South Korea-based SAMG Animation.[18]

"Simon Says" (French: Jackady) is the tenth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast in French on Canada's Télé-Québec on 6 March 2016 as the twenty-third episode before premiering on France's TFOU on 27 March 2016 as the twenty-third episode. The English dub was first aired on ABC Me in Australia on 13 April 2015 as the seventeenth episode, and premiered in the United States on Nickelodeon on 20 August 2016 as the eighteenth episode.

Plot[edit]

Because of her repeated missions as Ladybug, Marinette keeps missing school, which gets her grounded. This prevents her from visiting Nino, who is currently competing on the TV game show The Challenge, and offering her support.

She can only watch as Nino is challenged to make André Bourgeois, the city's mayor and Chloé's father, to dance. He wins due to a technicality, much to the happiness of Adrien, who is watching live. The next contestant is Simon Grimault, a stage magician and self-described hypnotist, who is tasked to hypnotize Gabriel into visiting the studio. However, Gabriel refuses to participate, forfeiting the challenge and making Simon lose.

Hawk Moth takes advantage of Simon's disappointment and akumatizes him into "Simon Says", who can use the playing cards that contain the akuma to brainwash people into acting like different things. He announces his intention to capture and hypnotize Gabriel, but Hawk Moth cryptically warns that it is risky.

Ladybug has no choice but to evade her parents and join Cat Noir in their fight. The latter attempts to take on the villain himself, but he sends Placide I.T., Adrien's mute, gorilla-like bodyguard, to attack him. Cat Noir manages to trap the bodyguard in an elevator, then uses his Cataclysm on the controls, causing it to fall to the ground. He and Ladybug then bring Nino to Adrien's mansion in order to protect him; they also warn Gabriel about Simon Says' plan.

As Simon Says' brainwashed army approaches the house, Cat Noir tells Gabriel to activate the house's security system. Despite feeling suspicious of the hero, Gabriel reluctantly activates the defenses, but the army manages to break in. Ladybug also realizes Adrien has feelings for her as a hero, and discovers that Adrien's mother, Emilie, has gone missing.

Meanwhile, Simon Says successfully captures Gabriel and hypnotizes him into jumping off the studio roof, making the heroes go after him directly. Ladybug rips up his cards one by one, but no akuma comes out. Her Lucky Charm creates a normal yo-yo; she is at first puzzled by it, but when the villain disables her magical yo-yo, she uses the normal one to knock Simon's cards out of his hands. Cat Noir Cataclysms the entire deck, freeing the akuma. Ladybug uses her Miraculous Ladybug to restore her magical yo-yo, then uses it to purify the akuma.

A week later, Marinette's grounding is rescinded, and she is allowed to visit Nino for the second round of The Challenge. She initially refuses, but when Nino wants Ladybug and Cat Noir to be in the studio, she has no choice to but leave.

"Rogercop" (Korean: 로저캅; transl. Robocop) is the eleventh episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on South Korea's Korea Educational Broadcasting System on 20 October 2015 as the eighth episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 27 October 2015 as the eighth episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 31 January 2016 as the ninth episode.

Plot[edit]

Marinette's school is hosting a "Career Day", where the students' parents join them in class and demonstrate their careers. The guests include Mayor André Bourgeois; Tom Dupain, Marinette's baker father; and Roger Raincomprix, Sabrina's policeman father.

As Marinette distributes her father's croissants to her classmates, Plagg notices Chloé putting an expensive bracelet in a round box. Thinking it is camembert, he plays with it, only for it to get stuck around his head. He ends up knocking over Chloé's bag and causing Marinette to trip.

When Chloé notices the bracelet is missing, she immediately accuses Marinette and orders Roger to arrest her. The policeman protests, saying that there is no proof Marinette is guilty. Chloé doesn't listen and pressures her father into threatening Roger if he doesn't search Marinette. When he refuses to comply, the mayor has no choice but to relieve him of his duties (although this is not possible in real life, as the Mayor of Paris does not hold any power over the Paris Police Prefecture).

Frustrated, Roger goes back to his police car. There, Hawk Moth akumatizes him into "Rogercop", a robotic policeman with a futuristic car and the ability to "arrest" people with laser handcuffs and brainwash them into doing punishments with a blow of the whistle that contains the akuma.

Rogercop returns to the school, intending to arrest Mayor Bourgeois. He first forces a teacher into endlessly picking up trash and makes a janitor run laps around the courtyard. He then barges into Marinette's class, just in time to see Marinette trying to prove her innocence by accusing her other classmates. His sudden appearance causes Marinette to rethink her behavior and fight Rogercop; Adrien also joins the fight, removing the bracelet from Plagg by making him sneeze a piece of camembert covered in pepper.

Rogercop plants a tracking device on the mayor's limousine, allowing him to follow it in his flying car, taking Chloé with him. Ladybug and Cat Noir follow them, and he puts his car on autopilot in order to face the heroes directly. The two are no match for the robotic policeman, especially when he is unaffected when the car rotates on its axis. They fall onto the streets below, where Cat Noir attempts to kiss Ladybug before continuing on their mission.

The heroes follow Rogercop to the Hôtel de Ville, which he enters by using his lasers to cut a hole for his car to enter. He brainwashes Mayor Bourgeois into ceding power to him, and declares Ladybug and Cat Noir to be criminals that should be arrested on sight. Night falls and the heroes still haven't left their lookout, as the grounds are littered with policemen. Cat Noir distracts the guards with a wild dance, then sneakily enters the building with Ladybug.

They find Rogercop holding the mayor and Chloé hostage in a small room. The villain orders them to attack the heroes, but they simply drive the hostages out of the room. Ladybug then uses her Lucky Charm to create an oven mitt, which she combines with another mitt, a belt, and Chloé's bracelet to create makeshift handcuffs. Cat Noir then Cataclysms the floor in order to sink Rogercop waist-deep, allowing Ladybug to handcuff him, making him unable to fire lasers. She then grabs the whistle, purifies the akuma, and restores everything to normal.

At Ladybug's suggestion, Roger returns Chloé's bracelet. Mayor Bourgeois also apologizes to him, and as compensation, promotes him to Lieutenant.

"Gamer" (French: Le Gamer) is the twelfth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast in French on France's TFOU on 17 January 2016 as the fifteenth episode, while the English dub was first aired on ABC Me in Australia on 18 April 2016 as the twentieth episode, and premiered in the United States on Nickelodeon on 24 September 2016 as the twenty-second episode.

Plot[edit]

An inter-school video game competition is going on, and Collège François Dupont is currently looking for representatives. To this end, several of Marinette's classmates practice in the library.

The current contenders are Max and Adrien, who are dueling at the Mortal Kombat-esque fighting game Ultimate Mecha Strike III. Despite practicing for months, Max loses to Adrien. Realizing that winning would allow her to be with Adrien, Marinette joins at the last minute and, to everyone's shock, actually wins.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, Max congratulates Marinette and Adrien, but he secretly feels angry about his consecutive losses. This allows Hawk Moth to akumatize him into "Gamer", giving him a real life version of his mecha from the game. It can turn people and vehicles into balls of experience points that can upgrade the mech; there are four possible levels it can reach. The first level resembles a low-flying floating pyramid, the second has two tall, tentacle-like legs, and the third resembles a traditional, human-shaped mech.

As he causes destruction across Paris, Marinette and Adrien practice in the former's room. She finds it awkward at first, due to her parents' constant pestering and the collection of Adrien memorabilia around her room, but she eventually cooperates peacefully with Adrien. She even gives him a lucky charm bracelet, which she claims is the reason behind her expertise.

They later go to the Place des Vosges, where they are attacked by Gamer, who is now on level three. Ladybug and Cat Noir chase the robot across the city, cornering it at the Parc des Princes. There, Cat Noir Cataclysms the robot, making Gamer vulnerable. However, the villain reveals that he had placed a save point, which allows him to restore his robot.

In response, Ladybug and Cat Noir deploy a Ladybug-themed mech, which they received as loot. They fight Gamer using various moves in an homage to several video games, but neither side wins. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a can of spray paint, which she uses to blind Gamer's mech's camera. He is forced to physically peek outside, allowing Ladybug to break the futuristic glasses that contain the akuma. Afterwards, she returns everything to normal.

Later, at the competition, Marinette confesses the truth and offers Max her place. In return, Adrien offers Marinette his.

Plot[edit]

Nino confesses to Adrien that he has a crush on Marinette, but he couldn't bring himself to tell her. Adrien off-handedly suggests that Nino and Marinette have a date at the zoo. Alya agrees, thinking it will help Marinette get closer to Adrien.

Adrien helps Nino confess by dictating lines through a wireless earpiece, while Alya does the same to Marinette. However, both stumble over their lines and Nino accidentally claims he has a crush on Alya, which the latter is exasperated by. Marinette, not noticing the slip-up, offers to help Nino and Alya get together.

Meanwhile, Max and Kim visit the new black panther exhibit, currently tended to by Otis Césaire, the zookeeper and Alya's father. Kim mocks the panther and claims he can beat in a race. This angers Otis and causes him to be akumatized into "Animan", who can transform into and communicate with different species of animals; appearing as a black panther, he intends to get revenge on Kim.

Animan frees all the zoo animals, sending all the visitors into a panic. Ladybug and Cat Noir attempt to return the animals to their cages, but they are simply too numerous. They instead decide to go after Animan directly, but not before locking Alya and Nino together in the now-empty gorilla enclosure.

Ladybug manages to tie up Animan, but he later escapes from her seemingly unbreakable yo-yo. The heroes find him on a bridge, about to corner Kim. Cat Noir tells Kim to run, placing a tracking device on him in order to predict where Animan will appear next. The villain then transforms into a bald eagle and chases Kim to Marinette's bakery.

Animan transforms into a ladybug, allowing the heroes to capture him in a tissue box. However, he immediately turns back into a panther and wreaks havoc across the now animal-infested city. The heroes trap him in a bus, where he transforms into random animals and slowly tires out. Cat Noir Cataclysms the bus' controls, making the doors go haywire. They open just wide enough for the heroes to escape before failing completely.

Much to the heroes' surprise, Animan escaped by transforming into a Tyrannosaurus rex – apparently, his power allows him to mimic all animals, including extinct ones. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a car jack, which she uses to hold the dinosaur's mouth open, rendering it unable to attack. She grabs the shark tooth bracelet from its short, useless arms, frees the akuma inside, then returns everything to normal.

Later, Marinette meets with Alya and Nino. He confesses the truth to Marinette, but adds that he and Alya discovered that they actually have a lot in common. Nino even offers to help Marinette with Adrien, but Alya scolds him.

Plot[edit]

Paris' mayoral elections have just concluded, where incumbent mayor André Bourgeois defeated Collège François Dupont's fencing teacher, Armand d'Argencourt, who ran on the pretense that his family ruled over the Paris area in medieval times, and as such the city should be his birthright.

Today, Marinette's class is also hosting elections, this time for class representative. Chloé and Sabrina have so far cast the only bid, with the former running for class representative and the latter as her deputy. They threaten most of the students and successfully dissuades them from running against her, causing Miss Bustier to unanimously declare them the winner. However, Marinette objects at the last moment, stating she will run despite the lack of a campaign.

Marinette's friends supply her with suggestions, some more fanciful than others, which she stores in a diary that is designed to lock whenever someone touches it. Immediately after that, however, Alya calls her, telling her that Chloé invited everyone to the Hôtel de Ville in order to see Jagged Stone. Excited, Marinette joins them, allowing Sabrina to sneak into her room and grab her diary in an effort to use her secrets against her. However, her hand gets locked inside the diary, and she cannot free it because Marinette has the key.

Meanwhile, after a fencing lesson, Mr. d'Argencourt is approached by news reporter Nadja Chamack with a question about his defeat. Still angered over it, he is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "Darkblade", a knight who can use the sword that contains the akuma to turn people into knight minions, intending to oust Mayor Bourgeois.

Cat Noir follows the knights to the Hôtel de Ville just as Marinette publicizes that Chloé is bribing her classmates with Jagged Stone autographs. The hero is quickly overwhelmed, but Chloé cannot do anything to protect her friends. This prompts Marinette to step in before joining Cat Noir in the fight.

Darkblade turns two cars into catapults, which two knights use to launch themselves onto the building's roof. They replace the French flag with a medieval banner, creating a large black cloud that covers the city, turning everyone into knights. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a wind-up toy; she throws it inside Darkblade's suit armor, tickling him. He drops his sword, allowing Ladybug to break it. With his defeat, she reverts all the damage he caused.

Later, Marinette returns to her classmates and reveals Chloé's spying. She reaffirms how she is a good leader and not just an alternative to Chloé. As a result, everyone – including Sabrina – elects her as class representative, with Alya as her deputy.

"The Pharaoh" (French: Le Pharaon; Korean: 파라오의 여인; transl. Lady of the Pharaoh) is the fifteenth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on South Korea's Korea Educational Broadcasting System on 13 October 2015 as the seventh episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 21 October 2015 as the third episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon on the United States on 10 January 2016 as the sixth episode.

Plot[edit]

Alya uploads a vlog where she postulates that Ladybug is a collège student, since the hero dropped a troisième history textbook during a mission. She further hypothesizes that Ladybug goes to Collège François Dupont, as that school is the only one that uses that particular title.

Marinette freaks out over this, as that book is the one she borrowed; if Alya makes the connection, she will easily discover Marinette's secret identity. Tikki hatches a plan to invite Alya to the Louvre, where an exhibition on King Tutankhamun is being displayed. The kwami hints that there is something about Ladybug's past that is on display.

When they arrive at the museum, they are greeted by the curators, Alim Kubdel and his son Jalil. Jalil has theorized that one of the scrolls on display acually depicts a secret ritual that would allow King Tut to resurrect his princess Nefertiti (who was actually the wife of his father Akhenaten, but likely not his actual mother), who had become Ra's wife in the afterlife. Jalil believes that the ritual could be used to bring back other people from the dead, and he attempts to prove this by playing with a displayed scepter and reading a scroll, but he is rebuked and dismissed by his father.

Dejected, Jalil is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "The Pharaoh"; with the powers of the Egyptian gods and the personality of a deceased pharaoh, he desires to perform the resurrection ritual for real.

The Pharaoh channels the power of Thoth, changing his head into a baboon's and giving him the ability to create bubbles that slow down time for the people trapped inside. Seeing this, Alya begins livestreaming, declaring that she is on the scene before Ladybug and Cat Noir.

The heroes arrive just in time to see Pharaoh stealing the scroll and scepter, which float on either side of his head. He then channels the power of Sekhmet, giving him extreme strength. He uses this to escape the room Ladybug and Cat Noir are in, after which he kidnaps Alya.

Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm on the security bars, allowing the heroes to escape. Following Alya's livestream, the heroes follow her outside, where the Pharaoh is carrying out the next phase of his plan. Using the power of Anubis, he turns one hundred bystanders into mummies and declares Alya to be his sacrifice in exchange for Nefertiti, as apparently Alya looks like the princess on the scroll. He also reveals that a Ladybug prevented him from carrying out the ritual five thousand years earlier.

The ritual works, and a beam of light shoots from the tip of the Louvre Pyramid up to a black portal in the sky, carrying Alya with it. Ladybug manages to get her, but the Pharaoh uses Horus' power of flight to catch her. Ladybug then uses her Lucky Charm to create a toy Ladybug costume. After some thinking, she offers herself as a sacrifice in Alya's place. She gives the fake earrings from the costume to Pharaoh, and, while he is distracted, breaks the scarab pendant containing the akuma. Ladybug then reverts all his effects.

Later, Marinette learns from Tikki that the latter is actually more than five thousand years old and has been the guardian of a long line of Ladybug heroes. Marinette then realizes she has to study for her history test, which so happens to be about Ancient Egypt.

"Timebreaker" (French: Chronogirl; Korean: 백 투 더 레이디버그; transl. Back to the Ladybug) is the fifteenth episode of the French superhero animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also known as Miraculous Ladybug. It was first broadcast on South Korea's Korea Educational Broadcasting System on 22 September 2015 as the fourth episode; the French version was first aired on France's TFOU on 23 October 2015 as the fifth episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon on the United States on 27 December 2015 as the fourth episode.

Plot[edit]

Marinette's parents, Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng, are celebrating their twentieth wedding anniversary, which means that Marinette is in charge of their bakery. It also happens to be the fifteenth birthday of her classmate, skater Alix Kubdel, who has just received an heirloom pocket watch that for some reason has the ability to project holographic images.

Marinette is tasked to give a cake to Nadja, who will arrive in five minutes; however, she also has to deliver a poster to the Trocadéro, where Alix and Kim are scheduled to have a race. She transforms into Ladybug to deliver the poster on time, completely forgetting about the cake.

Before the two athletes race, Alix hands the watch to Alya for safekeeping. However, in a complicated series of events, the watch ends up in the hands of Chloé. Marinette and Adrien try to make her give it back, but she refuses; she later drops the watch when it lights up. The watch rolls onto the racetrack and gets destroyed when Alix rolls over it with her rollerblades.

Alix's friends try to explain what happened, but that does not prevent Alix from lashing out at them. Angered, she is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "Timebreaker"; with the ability to make people disappear by touching them, giving her the energy to go back in time, she desires to fix her watch.

Ladybug and Cat Noir appear to stop her, but several of her classmates have already disappeared. The former manages to catch Timebreaker with her yo-yo, but the villain only drags the hero around. Hawk Moth commands Timebreaker to steal Ladybug's Miraculous, but before she can do so, Cat Noir sacrifices himself, giving the villain six minutes' worth of energy. Ladybug in tow, she skates away, and the two find themselves a few minutes in the past.

The future Ladybug tells Chloé to intentionally drop the watch, causing the past Alix to be akumatized into a copy of Timebreaker. The two villains start disappearing people in order to go further back in time. Future Ladybug tells her past self to deliver the cake to Nadja, as she had forgotten in the original timeline, after which the past Ladybug joins in on the fight.

The two Ladybugs use their Lucky Charm simultaneously, creating a bicycle lock and a traffic cone. The past Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm on a pillar, distracting the Timebreakers. The Ladybugs then tie the villains together by the ankles, then use the traffic cone and the sign of an ice cream stand to create a ramp. The Timebreakers are launched into the air, and the Ladybugs use their yo-yos to remove their skates, which contain the akumas.

The Ladybugs revert the villain's effects, causing the timelines to merge; only a single Ladybug and Alix now remain. Ladybug reminds Alix to be more responsible with her watch, and in the same spirit, returns to her parents and apologizes for making Nadja wait.

It was first broadcast in French on France's TFOU on 30 October 2015 as the eleventh episode, while the English dub was first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 21 February 2016 as the eleventh episode.

Plot[edit]

Nino and his class are filming an amateur horror film for a film contest, with shy environmentalist Mylène Haprèle in the lead role. She is easily scared by the costume of her boyfriend, large and muscular Ivan Bruel, who is playing the monster, but she calms down by singing a song called "Smelly Wolf".

Chloé mocks Mylène's incompetence, which causes the latter to run away. This catches the attention of Hawk Moth, who akumatizes Mylène into "Horrificator", a real-life version of the monster from the film; with the ability to feed on people's fear, she intends to make everyone understand how it feels to be scared.

Marinette notices Horrificator's pink slime in the bathroom, but before she can investigate, Nino calls her back to the classroom, where the situation is chaotic due to left and right reshufflings of the roles in order to fill for Mylène's absence. Marinette takes advantage of the situation and sends Chloé away supposedly to retrieve a costume. This also has the side effect of casting her in a kissing scene with Adrien.

Suddenly, a scream erupts from the courtyard. The class investigates, with Nino still filming, and find out that two of their classmates have gone missing. They try to alert the principal, but he is missing too; they also notice that the entire school is covered in slime, and there is no cell reception.

Ladybug and Cat Noir arrive and try to evacuate the students, but there is nowhere for them to go. Horrificator appears and starts taking students one by one; as the heroes fight her, they realize she grows when people and scared and shrinks when people are not. Tracking the monster via her goo trails, the heroes and the remaining students follow her to her lair in the school's boiler room.

Inside, they find the missing students trapped inside indestructible pods of slime. Cat Noir lures Horrificator to a hanging platform then Cataclysms it, trapping the monster. Ladybug then uses her Lucky Charm to create guitar strings; realizing that Horrificator is Mylène, she uses the strings and other random items to create makeshift instruments. The class performs "Smelly Wolf" together, making Horrificator shrink to a very small size. Ladybug finds and breaks the pin that contains the akuma, allowing her to revert her effects.

Later, Nino decides to sumbit his footage of Horrificator to the contest. However, it is rejected, as the monster is claimed to be not realistic enough.

When Manon, who is playing the villains, keeps losing their mock fights, she attempts to get the Ladybug doll, but her mother Nadja comes to pick her up. Nadja tells Manon to return the doll, but the girl refuses; when Nadja tries to give it back, it gets ripped. Marinette instead gives her the Lady Wifi doll.

Nadja later takes Manon to the TV station, leaving her daughter alone to do an errand. When she discovers Manon playing with Marinette's doll, she gets angry and takes the doll, believing that Manon had taken the doll without Marinette's permission. Angered, Manon is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "The Puppeteer"; with the power to bring dolls to life using the magic wand that contains the akuma, she intends to win Marinette's game.

While on the train with Marinette on her way to see a movie, Alya suddenly transforms into Lady Wifi. In the voice of a young girl, she demands that Marinette gives her the dolls. When she explains that she does not have them, Lady Wifi uses a "fast-forward" icon as a hoverboard to escape the train.

Ladybug and Cat Noir later find Lady Wifi in Marinette's room, stealing the Evillustrator and Rogercop dolls. Cat Noir Cataclysms the Wi-Fi antenna and Ladybug destroys Lady Wifi's phone, but no akuma comes out. The heroes realize that Manon is controlling Lady Wifi via the dolls.

They confront the Puppeteer at the TV station, where the villain takes control of Evillustrator, Rogercop, and Cat Noir. Ladybug singlehandedly disables the villains, then uses her Lucky Charm to create a power strip. She uses it as a second yo-yo to deflect the villains' projectiles, making one of Lady Wifi's pause icons paralyze the Puppeteer. This allows Ladybug to casually break her wand, purify the akuma, and return everything to normal.

Later, Marinette apologizes to Nadja for allowing Manon to get the doll without her permission. Manon asks to play with the dolls again, but Marinette suggests that they go to the zoo instead.

Plot[edit]

Alya shows Marinette a video of Ladybug saving a child and talking to Alya over the other reporters, even complimenting the latter's blog, the "Ladyblog". Tikki asks Marinette to watch it on Alya's phone, but when Marinette grabs it, she accidentally deletes the video.

Suddenly, Mylène and her father, mime Fred, arrive. The latter has come to pick up his hat, which he had Marinette repair. He then leaves to catch the tour bus that would take him to the Eiffel Tower, where a show he will be starring in will be performed. He is informed that his troupe's bus will pick him up in front of the Louvre Pyramid; when it doesn't arrive, he realizes that it was a ruse by his co-star, Chris, in order to nag him the lead role. Angered, Fred is akumatized by Hawk Moth into "The Mime", a mute supervillain who can create any object by mimicking using it, who intends to get revenge on Chris.

Meanwhile, Ladybug tries to recreate the video, to no avail; her attempts are further interrupted when the Mime fires invisible arrows at her. She avoids them, but the Mime creates a bazooka and a whip, which Cat Noir pushes away. The Mime then locks the heroes in a cage before driving off; the bars disappear when he steps into his car, making Ladybug realize he can only create one object at a time.

Ladybug and Cat Noir catch up with the Mime's car, but he escapes on a motorcycle. The heroes them pursue him to the troupe bus, where he and Cat Noir have a short sword fight. The Mime falls off the bus and lands on a car, then uses a chainsaw to slice the roof of the car open. The villain fires arrows from it, puncturing the bus' tire and sending it careening straight for the Eiffel Tower. Luckily, Cat Noir manages to stop it just in time.

The heroes try to stop the Mime, but he creates a bomb that throws them backwards. Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm to create a shoebox, then combines it with a pair of glasses, a poster, and the bus' headlight to create a makeshift projector that projects the mime show poster onto the Eiffel Tower. Furious, the Mime tries to cut it in half, but he cuts the tower instead, prompting him to mimic strength in order to prevent the tower from falling. Now that he is distracted, the heroes easily get his hat, which contains the akumatized object: a photo of Mylène that he keeps as a good luck charm. Ladybug destroys it, purifies the akuma, and reverts its effects.

Later, Marinette tells Alya the truth about the video. In exchange, she allows Alya to have a one-on-one interview with Ladybug.
