The 4 Seasons Discography[edit]

Mistamystery,

Your work is very cool!

I have worked on the discography myself and have a few questions or comments, if you will.

Previously, I noted not just the year, but also the month of the release date. I am wondering if that should be put back in.

Also, I noted the product release label and number, which might be helpful to collectors and others looking to find copies of these recordings.

Note that there was really artists like Matthew Reid and Hal Miller; the Seasons provided backup on vocals and/or instruments. I think one has to be careful in implying that the Seasons were actually the artist in disguise (in some cases they were like Turner DeSentri).

I might be able to help. I always believe more info is better than less. So, your feedback is appeciated.

August 2015[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Donda (moth) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. -- 67.70.32.190 (talk) 06:07, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

My edits are non-controversial and in-line with the subject matter on the pages. There has been inaccurate posting across numerous pages which justified the numerous edits, but all of them are in line with the same described Jewish theology on the Tetragrammaton page.

Simply put, the usage of “Yahweh” is not only not considered universally sound by academics, it is also offensive to Jews in a manner central to the religion. Replacing “Yahweh” with YHWH is not only appropriate on all academic and theological grounds, it is far in line with religious sensitivities (many Jews consider the usage of the words “Yahweh” and “jehovah” to be equally as offensive as the usage of the n-word) Mistamystery (talk) 07:26, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

If your aim is to persist in what you were doing, you aren't going to be unblocked. Tgeorgescu (talk) 07:43, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
We go by what the sources say. Our articles on Islam sometimes include images that are offensive to many Muslims, but that doesn't mean we don't use them. As for many Jews and the n-word, see this article in Forward. Read the whole thing, but I particularly liked "The analogy with the “N-word” strikes me as totally off-base. If I call someone “nigger,” I am abusing him. When I write the word “Yahweh,” I am abusing Mr. Siegel’s sensibilities, which is something quite different — and if we are going to be honest about it, it is almost impossible to have a serious discussion about anything without someone’s sensibilities being offended."

We’re having a conversation here, aren’t we?

I have no aim to continue - especially if this is the reception I’m getting when what I’m doing - so far as from A rabbinic perspective - is non controversial.

The Tetragrammaton has been unpronounced and treated with awe-inspired distance and reverence since the 5th century BC and this has been universal in Judaism since then. That includes the religion practiced in the time of Jesus - so from a theological perspective I don’t think it’s in anyone’s favor to put the insistence of 19th century gentile scholars over what the current global consensus of practiced religious Judaism insists is the treatment of the holy name. Which is that it is not to be pronounced because it is too holy for people to pronounce - merely be indicated toward with reverence.

This is a central concept to the religion of Judaism. Anything that falls into the concept of “holy of holies” need be treated with excessive sensitivity and caution. Every single religious Jew on this planet knows that the Tetragrammaton is not to be pronounced, but it’s meaning is to be understood. That’s the core value conveyed by the religion, and has been (even according to the article as it currently stands) for over 2500 years.

In the face of the Tetragrammaton, every religious Jewish person on this planet says “Adonai”, “adoshem”, or “Elohim” in deference for explicitly not even *attempting” to pronounce the name. That is central to Judaism and any more than a cursory search into the core beliefs and practices of Jews will confirm it.

I don’t think the writings of a few European scholars insisting that the pronunciation was “Yahweh” (when it must also be pointed out there isn’t even a “w” sound in hebrew) is a bit much.

I’ll be happy to put this on the talk page of that article, but the entire Jewish academic consensus is on my side here. It’s inappropriate - according to Jewish law and practice - to attempt pronunciation of the name, and outside of academic exploration of whatever “yahwism” that predated the codification of the current Hebrew Bible (which I believe was during the reign of Hezekiah and was in a clear attempt to conflate the various ways of reference of the G-d almighty - El, Elohim, El Shaddai, YHWH) the progressive result was to prevent any attempt at pronouncing the Tetragrammaton as a means of religious practice and value. Mistamystery (talk) 10:04, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Specific page from the Vatican / Catholic Council of Bishops regarding the universal ban of words like “Yahweh”:

http://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/the-mass/frequently-asked-questions/the-name-of-god-in-the-liturgy.cfm

“The directives indicate that the name of God in the form of the tetragrammaton is neither to be used nor pronounced in the Liturgy, and that the translation of the Divine Name, in accord with Liturgiam authenticam, no. 41, is to be rendered by the equivalent of Adonai/Kyrios, in English, "Lord."

The letter from the Holy See explains that the Divine Name as revealed in the Old Testament, יהוה (YHWH), has been held as unpronounceable as an expression of reverence for the greatness of God. The directive notes that "in recent years the practice has crept in pronouncing the God of Israel's proper name," known as the holy or divine tetragrammaton, written with four consonants, YHWH, in the Hebrew alphabet. In order to vocalize it, it is necessary to introduce vowels that alter the written and spoken forms of the name (i.e. "Yahweh" or "Jehovah"). Citing theological and philological reasons, and in keeping with tradition, the letter reminds the bishops that "from the beginning… the sacred tetragrammaton was never pronounced in the Christian context nor translated into any languages into which the Bible was translated." Historically the Divine Name was rendered in Hebrew as Adonai, in Greek as Kyrios, and in Latin as Dominus. This is evident in the Bible in both Septuagint and the Vulgate texts of the Bible (the New American Bible, used in the Lectionary for Mass, follows the same principle in translation). Liturgical texts have always followed that tradition.”

Draft:Elon Rutberg[edit]

An article you recently created, Elon Rutberg, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ☆ Bri (talk) 22:10, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

When working up this draft please take note of the status of reliable sources (RS); in particular, IMDB is WP:USERGENERATED, not an RS. Also, bandcamp.com has been challenged without a consensus outcome. ☆ Bri (talk) 22:16, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello! Thanks for your eyes on the page. However, every project listed on this page currently has other existing pages on wiki in which the credits are verified. IMDb is only one of the sources listed, every other article here is from press coverage. Happy to re-submit the draft but as Rutberg is credited across every single page/project currently listed on this page, I don’t see why this was shuffled through the draft process. Elon Rutberg[edit]

You added an article on Elon Rutberg to article space twice, and it was reviewed by both User:Bri and User:Sulfurboy and moved back into draft space as Draft:Elon Rutberg by both of them as undersourced. You then created another version of the article Elon Rutberg in article space. It cannot now be moved back into draft space, so that it is probable that it will be nominated for deletion. The deletion discussion could have been avoided if you had discussed the sourcing and notability considerations rather than simply move-warring the article back into article space.

The draft and article that you have written about Rutberg implies that he wrote or co-wrote Yeezus for Kanye West, which appears to be the basis of most of the claim of notability. The articles on Yeezus and its individual recordings do not mention Rutberg as a contributor.

Your editing seems to be focused almost entirely on one person. Do you have any connection with the subject of the article, Elon Rutberg? Please read the conflict of interest policy and make any required declarations.

Robert McClenon (talk) 17:55, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

I do not have a connection to the artist. I try and update hip hop related pages You are incorrect and do not seem to have checked the pages on the individual songs, nor the links provided. Rutberg co-wrote each song on the yeezus album (except for “guilt trip”) as well as the other songs mentioned. It just seemed that no one had yet made the move to create a page but as a Grammy nominated songwriter it seemed prudent to build the page - and that editors were inappropriately removing the publication without checking the links and citations (hence why I went ahead and published the page. The editors were writing off the articles without checking the citations properly) I provide for you the links to each song mentioned in the bio - each of which clearly state his authorship, as well as the page for Grammy award for best rap song which also states his nominee status. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hold_My_Liquor https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_a_God https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Slaves https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/FourFiveSeconds https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Skinhead https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Send_It_Up https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_on_the_Leaves https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_for_Best_Rap_Song Mistamystery (talk) 19:51, 10 March 2020 (UTC) Mistamystery (talk) 19:51, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Foster Kamer[edit]

Caution required[edit]

I have to say, I'm a little concerned by you turning up in this discussion long before it has even popped up on associated WikiProjects. It raises questions over how you arrived there, especially since you also seem to have turned up in a state of confusion, mistaking a category discussion for an article one - rather as if you have come to the discussion not from the category itself, but from browsing my contributions and grabbing the wrong end of the stick. In case this is what this is, please note that you need to be very careful with potentially WP:HOUNDING other editors. Iskandar323 (talk) 12:17, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

I’m not hounding anyone. I spent some time away from Wikipedia in general, and then returned, mostly to resume editing theatrical articles. I then decided to waltz over into this subject territory and found myself immediately engaged in a number of conversations and topics. That’s all.
Firstly, apologies about the confusion regarding the appropriate talk location for a category discussion. I wouldn’t remotely categorize my arrival as in a “state of confusion” and think that assertion is an over reach.
That said, you must also be reminded to abide by neutrality standards (as we all must), and given an overly intense fixation on certain terminology in the other discussion by certain users, yes I did decide to look into what other contributions you had made, only to find that you had been working to remove “Land of Israel” concurrently from more than one page title.
I do not harbor any grievance over anyone’s apparent or presumed editorial mission, but if that is the case, then you should take pains to be overly transparent in discussions so one does not innocently look at a contribution record and make any incorrect assumptions.
I only believe in community consensus, appreciate the dialogue, and look forward to more. Mistamystery (talk) 12:30, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
Contesting language that is derived from a religious POV and falls short of language that is neutral or scholarly is wholly in accordance with the core content policy of WP:NPOV I believe. Iskandar323 (talk) 12:58, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
Just to be clear Iskandar323, the term Land of Israel is both neutral, common, and found widely in scholarly literature. Drsmoo (talk) 13:18, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
@Drsmoo: That would be a great response if just stating your opinions in the absence of any actual information actually meant something. Just because the term is widely mentioned in scholarship (as a term used in religious literature), that hardly makes the term magically neutral. Please go and answer your own talk page discussion on how you are currently navigating about Wikipedia at the moment. Iskandar323 (talk) 13:34, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

You have violated the 1RR at Israel, kindly self-revert or you may be reported to arbitration enforcement. nableezy - 05:05, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

And hello, I already started a discussion at the talk page. Please self-revert or I will be reporting the edit-warring. nableezy - 05:06, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Happily. Give me a moment.
That said, given that you and the other editor’s reverts erased an existing item on the page (that I was merely correcting), please consider reverting all the edits from today so this may be all handled via talk page. Mistamystery (talk) 05:19, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Consider that editor's edit to have been the erasure, your first revert the reinstatement, and my first revert a revert of that. The material does not belong there regardless, so I wont be putting it back. And very happy to work it out on the talk page as well. nableezy - 05:21, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Anthony Kilhoffer[edit]

Notice

The article Anthony Kilhoffer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:DIRECTORY. Appears to only reach for notability for his Grammys (though he is among a long list of collaborators on all four of those projects) but the article severely lacks in prose and the subject severely lacks for SIGCOV (I saw interviews, including the Pitchfork one already here, but nothing else).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. List of Palestinian suicide attacks[edit]

Iskandar323 just deleted a bunch of legit suicide attacks that can be easily verified with a simple google search. Can you please do something about it? 2600:100C:B05E:4B28:E00D:7B18:C080:809A (talk) 04:36, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Please note the following discussions:
Talk:List of Palestinian suicide attacks#Commencing an article cleanup/refresh
User talk:Iskandar323#Your recent edits to List of Palestinian suicide attacks
While it may seem uncouth for the user in question to remove those items from the page, he is within his rights, as there is no defense of non-cited material on Wikipedia.
That said, the removals can be reverted and preserved so long as sufficient citations are inserted into the page. I plan on getting to this at some point, but absolutely recommend you commence if you feel these incidents should resume placement on the page.
Thanks, MM

Whoops. Accidental. Reverting now.
Also not remotely warring, and no behavior thus far warrants such a warning. Thanks.Mistamystery (talk) 14:43, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. I just meant the 1 revert rule. And this was not a warning, sorry if it came off like that. nableezy - 16:58, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
👍🏻…happy trails. Mistamystery (talk) 17:14, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Edit warring at Gaza Health Ministry[edit]

I strongly urge you self-revert at Gaza Health Ministry. You shouldn't have made more than 1 revert, let alone 3.VR talk 21:20, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

It’s just two, and all were made prior to application of ARBPIA template (which I placed myself because of disruptive editing by another editor), so do not fall under 1RR.
I recommend reviewing all of the edits made by the other editor in question before sending any urges my way first, and otherwise recommend an uninvolved admin/arbitrator come in and review the situation. I’m merely trying to preserve neutrality and structure to an article and have done a pretty good job at respecting other voices in the room..Mistamystery (talk) 21:27, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Arbitration/Index/Palestine-Israel articles applies to "any pages and edits that could be reasonably construed as being related to the Arab-Israeli conflict". This page is absolutely within the realm of the Arab-Israeli conflict, and has been for a while, regardless of any template you added on the talk page. I'm not out to get you, I want to give you a chance to self-revert.VR talk 21:30, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
I’m not out to get you either, but there is a lack of patience and reasoned editing being applied here.
That said, out of abundant caution, have no problem reverting. As there have been subsequent edits, will have to be handled manually. Please give me a few. Mistamystery (talk) 21:44, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
Absolutely and no problem. I do admit I edit fast, but that is because WP:BRD encourages making bold edits. You may have noticed, I have not reinstated any of my bold edits that you reverted. I would like to find mutually agreeable wording.VR talk 21:47, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
I appreciate that, and think there is a place for all appreciable data points on the page as this situation evolves. I just want to make sure the page is clean and is representative of the information as it has been evolving. Let’s move the convo back to the article talk page and see if we can make some progress together?
Thnx Mistamystery (talk) 21:52, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

You have very clearly violated the 1RR restriction, please self-revert your last set of reverts or I will be reporting it to AE. nableezy - 21:55, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

As per the above, I agreed to make the reverts and VR instead insisted we proceed peaceably together to find mutually agreeable wording going forward. We are now working together on the article talk page.
Happy to make reverts, but they have to handled manually. And if that’s the case, I leave to VR if he would like those specific edits restored, or if we may proceed and introduce or re-introduce whatever. Mistamystery (talk) 22:07, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
This needs to be self-reverted. nableezy - 22:09, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

1RR[edit]

You have crossed 1RR multiple times at From the River to the Sea. Please self revert. Onceinawhile (talk) 02:53, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Almost all recent edits are in line with well covered talk page conversations (and none were clean reverts, they were all edits)
I’m happy to revert any clean and clear examples, but you’re going to have to highlight which ones you think fall under 1RR. Thanks. Otherwise, Mistamystery (talk) 03:06, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
It's fine. I have done it. But please note that you risk being taken to WP:AE if this continues (see the warning from Nableezy above). Administrators see this as a "bright line", so caution is recommended. Onceinawhile (talk) 03:35, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
I appreciate the concern, but the above two were both clearly unintentional (one was actually an accident and the other was from a misunderstanding of technical ARBPIA policy) and were both quickly reverted without issue.
You have taken no time to read any of the lengthy and considerate responses I have given you on the From the river to the sea talk page (not to mention the very lengthy and considerate conversations that happened throughout the day while you were offline) and saw fit to undo what was a day of actually very considerate edits for - what - I’m not sure…
It doesn’t matter that Ron Smith or Robin Kelley teach at accredited universities and have their work peer-reviewed - the assertions made in the sources don’t hold up to basic scrutiny that has been well outlined. I don’t know why you are pushing so hard to keep them in there…
I like your work and I’m really trying to be respectful but I’m at a loss as to the approach you’re bringing to on this particular page.
Not one of my edits were clear reverts (the undo button wasn’t pushed once) and every single item was on the talk page awaiting any commentary or rebuttal.
Again, I really recommend being patient and engaging happily in the talk page process. There is room enough on the page for everything, but we are fundamentally dealing with a historical subject that needs to be covered at length. Mistamystery (talk) 03:49, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
