Annette Marie La Greca, Ph.D. ABPP is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Pediatrics, the Cooper Fellow, the Provost Scholar, and the Director of Clinical Training at the University of Miami. Dr. La Greca received an B.S. in Psychology and Mathematics from Fordham University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University.
Dr. La Greca's research explores mental and physical health, particularly the effects of trauma on children and adolescents. She has developed interventions for youth who were exposed to traumatic events (particularly natural disasters) and to peer victimization.[1] She has published over 200 papers and has an h-index of 67, and has authored over 60 books, book chapters, and monographs.[2](and CV[citation needed]) Her research has been funded by national programs (such as the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the National Institute of Child Health and Development, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the National Institute of Drug Abuse, the National Institute of Health, the National Institute of Mental Health, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse; and the Australian Research Council: Institute of Health and Welfare, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the Dutch National Research Federation), as well as institutional programs (such as the American Psychological Association, the BellSouth Foundation, the Fetzer Institute, the Institute of Child Health and Development, the Research Education in Disaster Mental Health, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the University of Miami).[citation needed]
In 2014, she was awarded the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology Distinguished Career Award.[3]
