Shoes on the Danube Promenade or "Shoes on the Danube bank" is the work of sculptor Gyula Pauer [[1]].
It is a memorial in Budapest near the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on the Danube Promenade.

This is a memorial for the victims of the arrow cross militiamens terror. During WW2, in, people were brought to the Danube and they have been just shot into the river. The composition called "Shoes on the Danube bank" is conmemorating them. I believe that all the holocaust memorials do have their place here...this horrible thing must be remembered...

"A Cipok a Duna-parton elnevezésu kompozíció a nyilasterror idején Dunába lott embereknek állít emléket. a szobrászmuvész hatvan pár korhu lábbelit formált meg vasból. A parti szegély terméskövére erosített cipok mögött negyven méter hosszúságú, hetven centiméter magas kopad húzódik.
