1. 1981 wilson and barber study

• fantsy prones reported being severely physically

abused dunng childhood, abuse was not reported in all cases of Fantasy also reported greater frequency and physical punishment.

• most reported greater use of fantasy to block the pain of punishment,and more often than not, thoughts of revenge

toward the person who punished them

• loneliness, and a preference for

pumshing their own children less severely was often reported as well.

• this study suggested that these individuals have compensatory and adaptive functions.
