Wikistalking[edit]

Anomicene, I was serious when I asked you to stay away from articles edited by Ironduke, so I'm disappointed to see that you followed him to one he created. [1] Your accounts risk being blocked indefinitely if this continues. Please avoid editing the same articles as him, in order to allow this issue to settle down. SlimVirgin (talk) 19:17, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SlimVirgin, as I have noted before, it is not my intention to "wikistalk" IronDuke, nor am I doing so. I observe that he is editing many pages (Gill Langley, List of people who assisted Jews during the Holocaust, Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Corrie, Canadian Union of Public Employees, and others) that I have no involvement with. Moreoever, the one you are complaining about, Global Relief Foundation, is linked from Mike Hawash, the only real page in contention. Are you actually objecting to the edits I made on Global Relief Foundation? I feel that they are NPOV and would stand up to any scrutiny required. The Wikipedia harassment policy says: "This does not include checking up on an editor to fix errors or violations of Wikipedia policy." The examples given of wikistalking say things like: "facetious strawman arguments", "editing a large set of articles", "constantly nit-picking ", and "discouraging his positive contributions". I do not think that any of these things can be said about my edits. However, I will also note that "Threatening another person is considered harassment". This would appear to be exactly what you are doing to me. If any of my edits are inappropriate, or if you believe that the pattern somehow meets the definition of wikistalking despite the points above, then bring the matter to Arbcom. I would be happy to defend my edits to disinterested parties. However, since IronDuke is taking your side in your current ArbCom case, I do not think you can claim to be a disinterested party here. -- Anomicene 20:01, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Amonicene, I will block this account and any others I suspect are you if this continues. I left this account unblocked a few weeks ago as a gesture of goodwill, so please accept it as such and don't exploit it. Ironduke has been harassed, stalked, and someone attempted to post his personal details. You are either connected to that person, or you are him, and we don't distinguish between sockpuppets and meatpuppets on Wikipedia. I'm asking you one last time to stay away from articles you can see Ironduke has recently edited. We have over one million articles. There is no need for you to focus on pages he is editing. SlimVirgin (talk) 20:08, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please comment on how long I need to stay away from these pages to "allow this issue to settle down"? -- Anomicene 20:25, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn't thought of any particular length of time. Perhaps you could stay away from them for now, and then if you want to return to them in the future, let me know, and we can take it from there. SlimVirgin (talk) 20:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really think this works. I've invited you to bring the matter to Arbcom, who can determine a fair punishment, if that is deserved. However, an arbitrary-length "stay away" smacks of autocracy and overreach. Do I need to "stay away" for a month? Two months? Does IronDuke also need to avoid articles that I have edited? -- Anomicene 21:01, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be a good idea for you both to stay away from each other, but as I understand it, ID doesn't follow you to articles. Regardless of whether you feel it smacks of overreach, this has gone on long enough, and this is my solution. If you don't like it, you can appeal to the arbitration committee if I block you, and then we can publish all the evidence we know of that links the accounts and let them judge. But in the meantime, if you continue to follow Ironduke's edits, the account will be blocked. I am asking for your cooperation. SlimVirgin (talk) 06:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

For the benefit of any administrator looking into this, I've blocked this account indefinitely as a sockpuppet of User:Gnetwerker. Gnetwerker has been engaged in a campaign of harassment against Ironduke (ID) for several months, using sockpuppet and meatpuppets, and anon IPs. Two of the sockpuppet accounts were blocked, but this one, Anomicene, was allowed to continue editing (as was Gnetwerker) because Gnetwerker assured me Anomicene was not him, but was an employee of his, which explained the IP evidence linking the accounts. However, Anomicene was asked to stay away from ID as a condition of being allowed to continue editing.

Recently, he followed ID to an article the latter had created, and I again asked him to stop editing articles ID has recently edited. This led to a discussion on AN started by Anomicene, and at one point, Anomicene posted by mistake as Gnetwerker, making the classic sockpuppet error of fogetting which user he was logged in as. I've therefore blocked the Anomicene account indefinitely, and will block the Gnetwerker account for a period for a violation of WP:SOCK. I've also protected this talk page so that the discussion takes place on Gnetwerker's talk page and not here too. The AN discussion is here. Anomicene posts here while logged in as Gnetwerker by mistake, and tries to retrieve the situation here. SlimVirgin (talk) 18:32, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
