Emotion Work[edit]

I noticed that you have been working a lot on Emotional labor. The Emotion work article is a stub. It has two sentences and two references. One reference I added to Emotional Labor's list of references. The other sentence and reference refer to emotional work to maintain a relationship. Can you think of where that might link to? I think that "Emotion work" is a disambiguation page that ought not need references. DCDuring 02:47, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Emotional Labor[edit]

Having a red personal page link is a sign of a newbie that makes some suspicious of the contributions being made. I'm glad you've put something on your page. Please don't worry about Matisse's tagging of the article. He's picky. The general standard of social sciences articles does need to be improved however. (Probably not, but check.) It should become a redirect page to "emotional labor". Your page will indirectly get the links (though they should be made directly to emotional labor. Re: Emotional labor[edit]

It looks like you have done lots of hard work and the article is greatly improved. A few things:

There is no point in red-linking "hassles" as it is very unlikely there will be an article on that subject, or other red-links that are unlikely to have articles. Hassles at best would be a dictionary word and there is a rule WP:WINAD.
Become familiar with the Manual of Style WP:MOS that applies to all Wikipedia articles. For example, bolding is to be avoided except at the beginning. (There are very few exceptions to this.)
Statements like "Researchers suggest" are to be avoided as "weasel words": WP:WEASEL. State what researcher suggest whatever.
Qotation marks are to be avoided, unless you are actually quoting someone, and then you would have a reference citation.
There are still many uncited statements, but I know you are working on that.
Something to consider when you have the article in shape is to go through a Wikipedia:Good article candidates review to get feedback, or ask someone from the Wikipedia:WikiProject League of Copyeditors to help you out. Much of writing an article in Wikipedia is knowing the MoS (Manual of Style) rules, of which there are many.
