No, I am not. At the time I tagged your comments with {{spa}}, your only 3 edits were to that AfD. It is very unusual that a user's first edit be to an AfD, and it is certainly strange that you have such knowledge of policy being a new user. Please note that the use of {{spa}} is common practice, and in no way is meant to imply that you are a sockpuppet, at least the way I used it. I regret nothing, and I am not willing to apologize, for I did nothing wrong. I do apologize, though, if I am sounding bity, but your editing pattern is unusual, to say the least. Also, please stop saying "warn editor" on every AfD you participate, as we all are humans and make mistakes. It is not common practice to yell and warn new users like you think they should. Happy editing! --Boricuaeddie 02:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
RE:How would I customize my username like you?[edit]
Oh. There's no article on that, but, if you want, I can design one for you. Just tell me the colors you want and where you want it to link (your talk or userpage). --Boricuaeddie 02:14, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by fade? --Boricuaeddie 02:20, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry. The fade in sigs is okay, but the colors you want would violate WP:SIG, as they are very hurtful to the eyes. You will need to choose solid colors. --Boricuaeddie 02:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. It'll probably take some time (one day). I'll start tomorrow, as it is quite late where I live. Happy editing! --Boricuaeddie 02:29, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! I'm working on your sig as we speak. --Boricuaeddie 16:18, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Enjoy the BBQ! When you come back, you'll have a surprise... :-) --Boricuaeddie 16:29, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Pick the one you like. When you've picked one, be sure to copy the code (how it looks in editing mode) and paste it to your preferences. Please note that the Luftan part links to your talk page, but doesn't link anywhere here because we are in your talk page. Happy editing! --Boricuaeddie 16:37, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. You're going to have to use the middle one. The others are too long. Sorry! --Boricuaeddie 16:48, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know. Unfortunately, the sigs you asked for are too long. You're going to have to use the one that doesn't fade. Sorry! --Boricuaeddie 18:09, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Now I can easily get to your talk page :-) Happy editing! --Boricuaeddie 18:17, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, I don't believe I have the community's trust, so I'd rather not go through the stress of requesting adminship. Thanks anyway! --Boricuaeddie 03:22, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, James Luftan! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. Hi, i noticed above that you have done the colours for someones name for them. Wondered howi would change the colours to purple (a different one) or a grey blue or just the eyes bit in green or some thing or pink maybe as dispite having colour change on my user page to practice i am rubbish at this. Have copied the code above to have a go at i hope this is ok. Thanks Delighted eyes 15:11, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jim! A pleasant surprise. I would simply love to design your userpage, but as I keep saying - I'm only good at stealing page designs. If you like the layered page design which is soPhaedrielish, then I think I could definitely help you out. Please let me know what colour combination you'd prefer, etc. And if there's any more information that you'd like to put up on your userpage, do lemme know. aJCfreakyAk 07:21, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Jim... I've been foolin around a bit in my sandbox. How's this for an initial design construct? Anyways, I'm logging out now. Will resume work on it again at around 07.30 UTC. Lemme know if you've any more requests regarding the design/construction, etc. :) aJCfreakyAk 16:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
C'est finit! You may revert back to me with comments... ;) aJCfreakyAk 09:27, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't my friend Ajc simply wonderful? :) (say yes, James, sweetie!) Anyway, I've taken note of you rrequest, and please, rest assured I'll get to work on your userpage as soon as I possibly can. And don't hesitate to let me know your preferences regarding colors, or layout; in fact, that makes my task easier! :) Have a beautiful day, Phaedriel - 23:05, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've been diligently working on my page (Margolis Brown Adaptors Company) and since you made some comments earlier, I would like to have your input and -if it's acceptable- your vote for it's survival or any advice you may have to improve it. Thanks!
Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for July has been published. August's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Film Tasks template to see how you can help.
Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 17:06, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't know. You may want to ask an admin. You haven't been blocked from editing Wikipedia; Your block log is clear. Maybe it's a bug? --Boricuaeddie 19:51, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article is not about the campaign of a candidate but his views on issues. This has its own category. The page should not be merged because it would clutter up the Michael Bloomberg page. The information is sourced and encyclopedic it should not be deleted or merged but have its own article. I ask you to please reconsider your vote per Savidan.--SouthernTexas 19:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I think the consensus in this discussion is that a merge is ok, and since there was a merge, we have to keep the article history for a GFDL. Since you're the only person arguing delete, and your delete indicated acceptance of a merge, I think it can be closed, but just to be sure, if you don't disagree with closing early, please let me know. If you do agree, then you can note it on the discussion page. FrozenPurpleCube 05:26, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bono on phila daily news.jpg)[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Bono on phila daily news.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:52, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to ask but why did you nominate the Paul VI High School article for deletion? Apparently the nomination was voided and there were no reasons for the nominations stated on the talk page. I don't think the "controversy" about Obama in the Somali garb is notable enough for it to have an article of it's own, or for it to be included in the main Barack Obama article. On the other hand, it is definitely notable enough to be included in the Barack Obama presidential campaign, 2008 article. --Bobblehead(rants) 03:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Films roll call and coordinator elections[edit]
Roll call and Coordinator nominations
It's that time of year again – we're wiping everyone's name off of the active members list and doing a project roll call. Your username is listed on the WikiProject Filmsparticipants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. It's also time to start the WikiProject Films coordinator selection process! We are aiming to elect seven coordinators to serve for the next six months; if you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 (UTC) on September 14!

Hi !
I am new to wiki so i hope I'm typing this in the right spot! I'm reaching out to other users for help. As I understand it, I need to track down an established wiki editor to help me rid the first article i've created ("Stone and Stone")of the ugly box that was posted on top "This article has multiple issues....".
I know exactly how these complaints came about. In my ignorance on how wiki works, I gave myself the same nickname as the subject I was writing on and then a whole drama ensued, as it was assumed that I was my subject and that I was writing an autobiography! In truth, I am a huge comedy fan and biographer and was dipping my toes for the first time in wikipedia waters!
Any help or solutions you could provide me when you get the chance would be greatly appreciated! This poor little article certainly doesn't deserve such an ugly heading box because of my wiki-ignorance! Thank you in advance for your time! Comedybiographer (talk) 10:54, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This message is being sent to inform you of a Wikipedia picnic that is being held in your area next Saturday, June 25. From 1 to 8 PM or any time in between, join your fellow volunteers for a get together at Norman's Landscape (directions) in Manhattan's Central Park.
Take along your friends (newbies permitted), your family and other free culture enthusiasts! You may also want to pack a blanket, some water or perhaps even a frisbee.
If you can, share what you're bringing at the discussion page.
You are invited to Wikipedia:The Musical in NYC, an editathon, Wikipedia meet-up and lectures that will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (at Lincoln Center), as part of the Wikipedia Loves Libraries events being held across the USA.

You are invited to the National Archives ExtravaSCANza, taking place every day next week from January 4–7, Wednesday to Saturday, in College Park, Maryland (Washington, DC metro area). Come help me cap off my stint as Wikipedian in Residence at the National Archives with one last success!
This will be a casual working event in which Wikipedians are getting together to scan interesting documents at the National Archives related to a different theme each day—currently: spaceflight, women's suffrage, Chile, and battleships—for use on Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons. The event is being held on multiple days, and in the evenings and weekend, so that as many locals and out-of-towners from nearby regions1 as possible can come. Please join us! 1 Wikipedians from DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Newark, New York City, and Pittsburgh have been invited.
Time: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. (drop-ins welcome at any time)

You are invited to Wikipedia Goes to the Movies in NYC, an editathon, Wikipedia meet-up and workshops focused on film and the performing arts that will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (at Lincoln Center), as part of the Wikipedia Loves Libraries events being held across the USA.
You are invited to celebrate Wikipedia Day and the 12th anniversary (!) of the founding of the site at Wikipedia Day NYC on Saturday February 23, 2013 at New York University; sign up for Wikipedia Day NYC here, or at bit.ly/wikidaynyu. Newcomers are very welcome! Bring your friends and colleagues!

On the last Sunday of every month, the Boardroom at Ace Hotel New York hosts Action Equals History — a unique opportunity for New Yorkers to learn hands-on in a technology training/workshop session about the mechanics, practices and benefits of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects. This is an opportunity for all to gather, share and work collectively towards a more robust account of history.
For this month, and following on the recent Art+Feminism campaign, we'll focus on building better edit-a-thon tools for a variety of different thematic campaigns, and user-testing them with the community. Towards a goal of advancing these tools for wider use with diverse local groups.

The Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon @ The Met will be the Metropolitan Museum of Art's second edit-a-thon, hosted on Sunday November 19, 2017 in the Bonnie Sacerdote Classroom, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance) at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Following the first Met edit-a-thon in May 2017, the museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. These can be illustrated with thousands of its recently-released images of public domain artworks available for Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse Asian collections onsite and remotely.
Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. Light snacks, drinks and cake will be provided.
We also welcome remote participation for the global online Wikipedia Asian Art Month, running November 1-30.
Thanks, and hope to see you at the museum, and/or as part of the online Wikipedia Asian Month contest!--Pharos (talk) 16:36, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Translat-a-thon NYC 2019 @ LaGuardia Community College is hosting the second annual Wikipedia Translatathon! At this event on Thursday evening and during the day Friday this week, anyone from the public is invited to LaGuardia to join students, professors, and CUNY faculty in translating Wikipedia articles among any languages which attendees understand. Themes for this event include public health and the history of New York City.
New York City has a large immigrant population and great diversity of speakers of various languages. Among all schools in New York City, LaGuardia has the highest percentage of immigrant students, the highest percentage of students who speak a language other than English as their first language, and the greatest representation of language diversity. It is a strength of LaGuardia that it can present "Wikipedia translatathons", which are Wikipedia translation events.

The Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon @ The Met will be hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Saturday November 16, 2019 in the Bonnie Sacerdote Classroom, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance) at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City.
The museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. Asia Art Archive will host a sister event in Hong Kong next week.
