Question from AzraSyedNaweed (23:35, 20 May 2024)[edit]

Hello,

I want to create a page for my employer, but I've read that I would need to go through a third-party route. Can you please confirm on how to create the page? --AzraSyedNaweed (talk) 23:35, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@AzraSyedNaweed: you are being scammed. There are, indeed, a number of companies and people out there who claim to write articles on Wikipedia in exchange for money. Most of these claims are either fraudulent or made by people who have no respect for Wikipedia's rules. We have a a pretty strict policy on paid editing due to such scammers, who rarely follow the policy. If you have any emails from such a company claiming to write an article for pay, please forward it as soon as you can to paid-en-wp@wikimedia.org.
I also advise you against writing an article on your employer yourself (or getting someone to write it for you). The page I've linked contains some useful information on why - I think you should also show that page to your employer. JavaHurricane 11:54, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Thank you so much for the reply. Can you let me know how I can get a page done for my employer? 184.147.66.103 (talk) 22:26, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Dan Proudfoot (19:51, 24 May 2024)[edit]

Dear Mentor, I am hesitant about tackling my first of the projected 10 edits, because I know nothing about the editing process. Most of my career in newspapers involved typewriters, paper and paste Although I wrote on laptops in the latter stages, I thought of the Macs as Underwoods! The Wikipedia tutorials and advice pages leave my head spinning. I need to jump into editing to get past this block. Dan Proudfoot. --Dan Proudfoot (talk) 19:51, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
