Megan's Review[edit]

Group 1C's goals for updating this article included adding information on the mechanism of action, vaccine storage, and safety in special populations. While I did not find information on the mechanism of action of the vaccine, substantial information was added in other areas. Under medical uses, it was added that the vaccine is recommended for adults over 60. Kathryn also added significant information in the vaccine schedule section that was easy to understand, including information on the appropriate schedule for age ranges and catch-up schedules. Information was also added under the contraindications section, which included points on some special populations. All added information was properly cited and the majority of the editing goals were met. Excellent work. Megan.roberson (talk) 20:47, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Megan! Thank you for the peer review. Although our initial goal was to include mechanism of action, after some group deliberation, we decided that mechanism of action could be found under the general Wikipedia topic of "vaccine," and that it was unnecessary to include the mechanism of action for the Varicella Vaccine. We also ended up not including information on vaccine storage because it is not a piece of knowledge that is relevant to the general public. The proper storage of the vaccine is more relevant to manufacturers, distributors, and health professionals who would administer the vaccine. Therefore, we decided not to include that information either. Kathrynngyn (talk) 17:42, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
