Reusing a reference[edit]

Hi, I noticed your edits to James Haven. When you have a source that you want to cite multiple times in the same article, the best thing to do is name it the first time you define the reference; for example:

<ref name=cohenrich>{{Cite news |url=https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2008/07/jolie200807 |title=A Woman in Full |last=Cohen |first=Rich |work=[[Vanity Fair (magazine)|Vanity Fair]]|url-access=limited|access-date=September 29, 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170702231256/http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2008/07/jolie200807|archive-date=July 2, 2017|url-status=live}}</ref>}}

See how in the ref tag, I assigned it the name cohenrich? Then the next time it's used in the article, all you have to put is <ref name=cohenrich /> (note the slash inside the tag. Hope that helps! Schazjmd (talk) 21:35, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
