N cody46 (talk) 18:48, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Peer Review: The content of your Top of the Hill article has been deleted, and you don't have it posted up on your user page, some I'm going to go off of what I remember of your article and what I would expect to see on a Top of the Hill article to write my peer review. If I remember from looking at your page before it was deleted, you had a short description of Top of the Hill, a section on the Targoyles, and a beer list. The section on the Targoyles was very good. The beer list should be deleted; what beers the restaurant serves isn't relevant information about the restaurant. This information would be better suited for an advertisement about the restaurant. In reading an article about Top of the Hill, I'd first expect to see a picture of the restaurant on the page. I searched online and couldn't find any pictures of Top of the Hill; however, you could take one yourself next time you're on Franklin Street (any pictures taken from the road can be legally used) or pull a screenshot from Google Map Streetview: [1] I would like to read about the history of the restaurant (when it was opened, ever changed ownership, ever caught on fire, etc.) For instance, in 2008 a man fell from Top of the Hill's balcony: [2] Look through more Daily Tar Heel articles to find more information: [3] or you could look through the News and Observer archives: [4] ...or the archives of local news outlets. Also, I'd especially like to know the relevance and importance of Top of the Hill to Chapel Hill and to the UNC community. In order for an article to remain on Wikipedia, the author has to show that the topic is a relevant one; by including the restaurant's importance to the community, I think you'd be able to show enough relevance for the article to remain on the site. Finally, take a look at the page for Carr Mill Mall, another business in the area, for a good example of how to structure a page about a local business. -Noel Cody[reply]

JLowman (talk) 15:42, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Peer Review Top of the Hill Since your page has been deleted, I’m going off of what is listed on your talk page. I like the description of the “tar-goyles” . the wording and grammar could be worked on a bit to make the sentences flow a little better instead of repeating “one is” followed by “one of..”. Maybe only name a few types of the award winning beers, if you find them. I could not tell what the beer list at the bottom related to. If you narrow it down and just add it in sentence for relating to the brewery, I think it would flow much better. You could either do that or create a few tables, one of “Carolina” type beers and one of award winning beers. Just a thought. Definitely not all of the beers served, as this will seem more of like an advertisement for the restaurant. That is not what wikipedia wants to display. More history of the place and the owner would be a big help to your article. This may help start to lean wikipedia towards keeping your article if it is more informative in this way. As Noel added, a picture would help you out as well. Also, maybe an overhead street map would help, with its location pointed out, as to give new visitors or those interested a way to visualize and relate it to the rest of campus and UNC Look on the top of the hill we-site…you may want to mention something about how they contribute to charities and other organizations especially the ones in the community. This will show some of the importance it has in chapel hill If you search though local newspaper databases I think you will have some better chances of finding other info.[reply]

Speedy deletion of Top of the Hill restaurant[edit]

A tag has been placed on Top of the Hill restaurant requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
