Welcome!

Hello, EMDRIntl, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was EMDR, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! June 2013[edit]

Information icon Please do not assume ownership of articles such as Francine Shapiro. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. Stuartyeates (talk) 19:59, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not sign your edits with my name[edit]

this edit is entirely unacceptable. You signed your request with my signature. Stuartyeates (talk) 20:04, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looking at it, it actually looks like they've cloned your entire RFPP request from 1 June. :) EMDRIntl, you need to make sure you don't do this in future. (also, please read my response to you on my talkpage) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 20:08, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This was done in error as we are a new user.

I confess I would find that significantly more believable if it weren't for the existance of a similar single-purpose accounts called User:EMDR and User:Sschubert and for your claim to be acting on behalf of Francine Shapiro. Stuartyeates (talk) 20:23, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted a page that has important information and resources on EMDR, which many across the world use as a form of treatment. All information and citations are correct. There was no need to delete a page that many use as a resource and no reason to accuse us of lying on acting on behalf of Francine. We would appreciate it if you would move your efforts elsewhere. Conflict of interest policy[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "EMDRIntl", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 20:57, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

EMDRIntnl, you claim that you are simply trying to provide accurate information about EMDR, but Wikipedia is a community which tries to discuss and come to consensus on controversial issues in order to present a neutral point of view. This is done on the relevant talk pages Talk:Francine Shapiro and Talk:Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. You haven't made any contributions to these pages and therefore have not shown yourself to be willing to be part of the community.

May I ask if you receive any benefits from EMDR, either as a practitioner or a client? In the former case there might be serious problems with you contributing to the article. In the latter, not necessarily but you need to be able to separate your personal experience from what is put in Wikipedia which has a rule of No original research. Do read the article I've just linked, particularly on primary, secondary and tertiary sources, which is not necessarily intuitive but does have a good rationale. In particular, we discourage the use of research articles which can often only be assessed by other practitioners in the same field. Chris55 (talk) 21:09, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
