Delete – according to Google this had 1 subcat Category:Danube basin and no top-level articles, and thus was serving no great purpose. comment. Neither the article, nor the category can convince me that "power center" is a valid, neutral term and not a marketing gimmick. Phrases like "adding big-box stores, category killers and strip malls to the parking and open areas, rather than to add anchors and new retail space to the existing mall facility" sound suspicious, to say the least. Books on the subject like [2] don't convince either. "Power centers are not mall developments but are designed so that the customer may park near the destination store". Huh? When I shop at the mall I park near the destination store. Does this choice made by yours truly make this mall a "power center"? How come it's owners never said the magic word? Perhaps because it's space is three times the meagre limit of 1 mil sq. ft. quoted in [3]? But it's just a shopping mall. 1 mil sq. ft. is just right for a food store. Comment The main article is subject to a merge nomination. If kept that article needs to be tagged "globalise". Certainly we do not use the term in UK. I would expect a power cetnre to be an electrical store. Peterkingiron (talk) 22:32, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Rename – in the UK these are retail parks; a shopping centre or mall is a different thing. I would dispute the subcatting of Category:Power centers - they are not shopping malls. (In Sheffield there is Meadowhall Centre, a shopping centre (not a retail park: it is entirely covered and has dozens of shops from small to large), and, close by, Meadowhall Retail Park (not a mall: not covered, no small retailers, 5 or 6 large national chain stores). Rename to Category:X-ray based equipment. I'm puzzled by the name that was selected for this category -- a slightly odd choice of words I'd say, given what's in it. I think the name I'm proposing better captures the contents of the category, but I'm open to other suggestions. The category creator's last edit was nearly one year ago, so not notified.
