Delete Category:Automotive conversion templates
Nominator's rationale: This category is now empty because all of the templates that used to be in it have been merged into {{convert}}. It could probably be speedied, but I wanted to give the automotive people a chance to object if they have any future plans for it. -- Selket Talk 22:25, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy delete The move to {{convert}} has been a long time in coming. I can't imagine that anyone seriously involved with the automotive project is unaware of this (I can think of at least two of the top of my head who are for it). The deletion of the final remaining templates was given the go over a week ago without objection. There could be no further use for this empty category. It's a definite WP:CSD#C1. Nominator's rationale: Rename. The lists that are being collected here not lists of books or publications discussing the X-Men as an element of fiction or a group of characters in works of fiction. Nominator's rationale: Only of the six articles in this category appear to be literary critics focusing on Kafka: most are biographers or translators. Rename per Category:Shakespeare scholars, or just upmerge, as a number of these people had been categorized under the eponymous cat for Kafka, before User:Stefanomione created this. Nominator's rationale: Populated only by Category:Colorado Scenic Byways and is therefore redundant to it save for the shitload of spam its only editor, User:SBMANAGER, added at the top. Propose renaming Category:Former Reform Judaism temples in Poland to Category:Former Reform synagogues in Poland
Nominator's rationale: The general term for a Jewish "house of prayer" is synagogue. Only in North America is the word "temple" ever used as an alternative word. Furthermore, all 12 pages currently appearing in this category include the word "Synagogue" as part of their name. Davshul (talk) 05:46, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose From the beginning of the nineteenth century, the word "temple" began to be used for Jewish houses of worship, almost exclusively by the followers of Reform Judaism, first in Germany, then in other countries, especially in the United States. I would induce Davshul to retract his latter reason for the nomination. He has voted to keep Category:Reform synagogues in the United States, yet that category has 127 pages, 4 of which are called "synagogues"! Chesdovi (talk) 10:02, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • I stand by my nomination. These synagogues (primarily in pre-War Poland) would probably have been referred to by their congregants as "shuls" (using the Yiddish word) or "beitei knesset" (the Hebrew word) (I've no idea what the Polish word is and doubt that it was used). However, in translating the name of the listed synagogues into English, it is noteworthy that the word "temple" was never used by the user(s) who created the articles.
