The result of the discussion was: Rename. Timrollpickering (talk) 12:29, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Propose renaming Category:Rock songs by subgenre to Category:Rock songs by genre
Nominator's rationale: Rename. To follow along the lines of Category:Rock albums by genre and other similar under Category:Albums by genre. But maybe it's all of those that should renamed to "by subgenre". Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 23:21, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Propose renaming Category:Taylor Hardwick designs to Category:Taylor Hardwick buildings
Nominator's rationale: Rename to follow convention for child cats under parent Category:Buildings and structures by architect. Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 20:48, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Delete. Timrollpickering (talk) 12:30, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Propose renaming Category:Peter Saville designs to Category:Albums with cover art by Peter Saville
Nominator's rationale: Rename. Unless I am misinterpreting this category, the proposed rename appears to be the format used for album cover designers. Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 20:39, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No disagreement here on the parent category in general. I'm not sure how many album covers Peter Saville (psychologist) has designed to create any ambiguity. --Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 23:29, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename per nom to be consistent with other cats in the parent cat. There is only one other Peter Saville and he is a psychologist. Peter Saville is actually one of the better koown designers because of his work with Factory Records and his covers tend to be very distinctive, eg The Perfect Kiss. Cjc13 (talk) 18:01, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete the designer of an album cover is not a notable trait. This is especially so since they can all easily be linked to the article on the designer.John Pack Lambert (talk) 21:35, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale:Delete - Unused category, which I think I created in connection with a template which was deleted as it mis-represented policy. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:52, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Task forces subscribed to Article Alerts (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Category:ArticleAlertbot subscriptions with display set to "none" (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Nominator's rationale: {{ArticleAlertbotSubscription}} that used to populate this category is now deprecated and its uses have been converted. The category was previously used by ArticleAlertbot for WP:AALERTS. The new bot AAlertBot uses a central subscription list and does not rely on this. —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 14:56, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Propose renaming Category:Members of the Scottish Parliament 2007– to Category:Members of the Scottish Parliament 2007–2011
Nominator's rationale: Rename. A new Parliament has just been elected. Philip Stevens (talk) 10:54, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Incidentally, why is it "Members of the Scottish Parliament" but "Wales AMs"? Why not "Members of the Welsh Assembly" or "Members of the Assembly of Wales"? I don't understand the inconsistency. In Ireland, you have "Members of the 30th Dáil". Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:22, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge to proposed target (created since the proposal was made). Jmorrison230582 (talk) 20:04, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is there really a reason why we need to subcategorize them by individual years that they held office at all? Doesn't that constitute overcategorization and/or excessive category bloat (given that a person could potentially have to be in five or six or ten of these by the time they retire from politics)? Bearcat (talk) 08:32, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Propose renaming Category:Russian news agencies to Category:To be determined
Propose renaming Category:Turkish news agencies to Category:To be determined
Propose renaming Category:Ukrainian news agencies to Category:To be determined
Nominator's rationale: Rename. There is no consistent name used for news agencies by country so we should choose between Fooian news agencies, News agencies in Foo and News agencies based in Foo. I would tend towards News agencies based in Foo as the clearest name of the three. Tim! (talk) 10:06, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support "News agencies based in Foo" as the agency may not be inherently Canadian (for example), but may just happen to have a significant base of operations in Canada. Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:11, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support "News agencies based in Foo" --Neutralitytalk 03:11, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Propose renaming Category:Wales AMs 2011-2016 to Category:Wales AMs 2011–
Nominator's rationale: Rename. Per precedent for incumbent legislatures (Category:UK MPs 2010– and Category:Northern Ireland MLAs 2011–). The Assembly may not last five years.Philip Stevens (talk) 10:03, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wales AMs 2011-2016 should be acceptable as the Fourth Assembly is for a 5 year fixed term Glamorgan (talk)

There could still be an early election, if the Welsh executive lost a no confidence motion for example. --Philip Stevens (talk) 11:12, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Is there any provision in the Government of Wales Acts for the assembly to be dissolved, either by the sovereign on the advice of the First Minister or the Presiding Officer, or by a vote of AMs? Peter Geatings (talk) 20:40, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Assuming the rules for the NAW are similar to the Scottish Parliament (set up at the same time), a 2/3 majority would be needed to dissolve early. Highly unlikely but possible. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 12:04, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • As long as dissolution is possible we should rename. Anyway, there could be utter destruction or other unforseen things that end the government before 2016. Dissolution may not be likely, but since it is possible within standard rules it should be allowed for.John Pack Lambert (talk) 21:39, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Recipients of the Order of the Lion (Senegal) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Nominator's rationale: Delete. There is no article about this award, Order of the Lion (Senegal). If it is a notable award, we probably should not have a category for recipients of the award before we even have an article about the award. (For reasons I do not understand, Order of the Lion of Senegal redirects to Order of the Holy Sepulchre, but that article says nothing about the Senegalese award.) Propose renaming Category:Hotels articles needing attention to Category:Hotel articles needing attention
Nominator's rationale: Rename. Better English. This should also be limited to inclusion on the talk page via the template. Vegaswikian (talk) 02:25, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
