The result of the discussion was: rename all to "rulers". --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 11:59, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Category:Mongolian monarchs doesn't contain modern republics : List of Mongolian states 182.160.4.162 (talk) 13:10, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here are 8 categories: Category:Mongol Empire people, Category:Borjigin, Category:Heads of state of Mongolia, Category:Khans, Category:Great Khans of the Mongol Empire, Category:Mongol Empire, Category:Mongolian dynasties, Category:Genghis Khan 182.160.6.151 (talk) 12:23, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I changed "states" to "rulers" except "Category:Mongolian monarchs to Category:Mongol states" 182.160.11.239 (talk) 05:47, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I created the discussion on 27 December, can we rename the category now? 182.160.32.228 (talk) 10:10, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So rename Category:Mongolian monarchs to Category:Mongol rulers please. 182.160.11.11 (talk) 04:06, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Hellcats episodes[edit]

The result of the discussion was: delete. There is agreement that a category of episodes is is un-needed, since its possible content is the List of Hellcats episodes and the pilot A World Full of Strangers. There was no agreement on the suggestion to rename and repurpose the category as a general category for the series, but the objection that such a category would fail WP:SMALLCAT is grounded in policy, so I weigh that as a consensus to delete. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:20, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Delete. Single-item category for a canceled series, unlikely to expand. Jerry Pepsi (talk) 23:33, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

  • Possibly Rename and repurpose as Category:Hellcats, which seems to be for the series. On the otehr hand I observe there is a Hellcat comic (currently a redirect). Are these related? If so, perhaps we might merge into one category for the fictional franchise. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:16, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Hellcat" is one of the noms de guerre of the character Patsy Walker and is unrelated to the TV show. The only other pertinent article for a Category:Hellcats is the article for the show itself. There is no list of characters and, since Hellcats is a Good Article, presumably if the person or persons who worked to promote it thought a character list was needed they would have created one. A two-article category still runs afoul of SMALL and EPONYMOUS. Jerry Pepsi (talk) 19:51, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 14:37, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Delete. Category contains nothing but a container category for redirects. Serves no purpose. Jerry Pepsi (talk) 23:36, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Kim family[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Kim dynasty (North Korea) per head article Kim dynasty (North Korea). --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:37, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: This category has a somewhat confusing name. Kim is the most common Korean surname; see Kim (Korean surname). There are lots of other notable people with the same surname (see e.g. the incomplete list in List of people with the Korean family name Kim), and the current name risks causing mix-up with other notable families with the same name. Should be coordinated with similar discussions such as Template talk:Kim Jong-il family tree#Requested move. Stefan2 (talk) 00:24, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, it should not be renamed until the discussion about the title of the main page is completed, then we should use the name we come up with. Charles Essie (talk) 03:17, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy Revert to name prior to speedy rename, per Occuli. After we sort out the Kim family article, this can be revisited, but as of right now, it should be renamed, to avoid having this as a dumping ground for Kim (surname) people. The category name is highly ambiguous, so even if the Kim family article isn't renamed, this category name is unacceptable in its ambiguousness, and necessarily needs a different name, per previous precedents of overly ambiguously named main articles needing a different category name. -- 76.65.128.112 (talk) 05:50, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy revert to Category:Kim Il-sung family or soemthing similar. Kim is the most common Korean surname, which measn that the presnet name is the equivalent in English of "Smith family" or in Welsh to "Jones family". These are not linked to the family of any given individual. I seem to recall that South Korea also had a President Kim, who was completely unrelated. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:24, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy revert: The lack of a large number of Korean surnames means that not having the "Il-sung" makes it very ambiguous. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:56, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename to Category:Kim dynasty (or Category:Kim dynasty (North Korea) to follow recent rename from "Kim family" → "Kim dynasty (North Korea)". (I'm advocated the same for the template rename.) "Dynasty" is a term used by the RS [1] and it refers to the totality of Kim Il-sung's family (a dynasty) without being easily confused with every other possible "Kim family" combination. czar  02:27, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
