The result of the discussion was: delete . – Fayenatic London 15:22, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Delete per WP:SMALLCAT. The two articles in the category already refer to each other in the body text so a category doesn't add any value here. Very similar to the Motya nomination below. Marcocapelle (talk) 23:03, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Rename. Renominate as a full discussion to reflect newly moved main article. This started as a speedy to move to Category:1,000 Guineas Stakes. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:31, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge . – Fayenatic London 15:13, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The nominated category only contains one child category so the current structure does not aid navigation. The nomination is also kind of C2C because none of Roman Britain's sister categories in Category:Provinces of the Roman Empire have a separate History child category (which makes sense because these categories are historical by nature). While nearly every former country has a separate History child category, it seems like unnecessary to impose that same structure on former provinces. The result of the discussion was: no consensus. MER-C 07:53, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per Near East, the term Middle East has meanwhile replaced the term Near East. Marcocapelle (talk) 10:09, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose Near East is the historical term for the area in ancient times, Middle East the modern one. The category contents reflect this, and it would be a very bad idea to mix them up. One might rename to "Ancient Middle East", but since "Near East" remains the normal term in archaeology etc, what would be the point? Johnbod (talk) 15:40, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • do not change Category:Near East has its very own main article Near East and content. It is an historical term; change would be ahistoric. Hmains (talk) 17:45, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge Although I have to say both terms reflect an overabundance of Euro-centricism.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:59, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment The opening of the article on Near East is Near East (French: Proche-Orient) is a eurocentric geographical term that roughly encompasses Western Asia. This may suggest we should rename both to Category:Western Asia.John Pack Lambert (talk) 14:45, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Interesting comment! I think a problem here is that Middle East is used much more often as a term to describe the region than West Asia. Perhaps we should merge West Asia to Middle East? Marcocapelle (talk) 09:31, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That would be to increase the level of Euro-centricism in Wikipedia.John Pack Lambert (talk) 14:52, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Delete. Recent good faith creation, but this cat is unlikely to get filled (WP:SMALLCAT) - privatization isn't such a big topic in Germany, except once with the German re-unification. Only entry Treuhandanstalt has already several good cats, e.g. Category:Economy of East Germany. Some countries use a "Privatization in Foo" category, some don't - so there seems to be no standard scheme for that cat. GermanJoe (talk) 01:21, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:27, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Delete. Non-WP:DEFINING intersection of an occupation with an ethnicity that has no bearing on that occupation — there's no evidence here that having Armenian ethnicity is of any special contextual relevance to film directors who aren't personally from Armenia. Only content, further, is an "American film directors of Armenian descent" subcategory which is also up for deletion for the same non-defining reason; if that gets deleted, this will become an empty category.
