The result of the discussion was: upmerge. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:23, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:SMALLCAT. Small one county community with just 2 entries. ...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 11:42, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upmerge I'm surprised a town with 3,000 residents has 2 notable people. No objection to recreating though if it ever gets up to 5 or so articles. RevelationDirect (talk) 11:56, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upmerge per nom. kennethaw88talk 03:48, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upmerge per nom. Every small town does not automatically get one of these the moment one or two people from that town have articles — such a category is not created until the number of people who can be filed in it already overtops WP:SMALLCAT right at the outset. The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:36, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The category names do not indicate any difference between them. After the merge we could create subcategories such as Category:Wikipedia Reference Desk archive (mathematics). DexDor (talk) 06:07, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Fictional Mediterranean people[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:25, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING and WP:SUBJECTIVECAT
There is no real world Category:Mediterranean people category and the Mediterranean race article has multiple definitions. Now, I'm open to fictional-only categories when there are unique topics (cyborgs, mad scientists, etc.) but I'm not seeing a clear fictional thread holding this together. Grouping French Canadian superhero, an Egyptian mummy, a Greek Australian merchant and an Italian American organized crime boss into a container category seems unlikely to aid navigation. - RevelationDirect (talk) 03:35, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Note: Notified Dietic as the category creator and this discussion has been included in WikiProject Ethnic groups. – RevelationDirect (talk) 03:35, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. WP:NONDEFINING with no function other than to act as a catch-all for obscure WP:OSE. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 05:35, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete grouping fictional people by what bodies of water the countries touch is not a constructive addition to the body of knowledge, nor useful in its organization. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 19:09, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete -- We normally split by continent not the littoral of seas. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:14, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete and redirect -- The term "Mediterranean race" is too outdated why don't we divided them into the continents instead. GoldenRainbow (talk) 00:12, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
