The result of the discussion was: procedural close as a redundant nomination (non-admin closure). Marcocapelle (talk) 07:30, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The Italian word Presidente (of C.d.A.) means chairman of the board of directors. Except Inter had Presidente and vice-president (They did not used Vice-Presidente for Zanetti's role even in their Italian webpage), all club had Presidente as chairman and Vice-Presidente as vice-chairman of BoD, but no of these equal to the role President (corporate title), except Zanetti. Moreover, as the cat tree was mirrored English football, and Roman Abramovich was not chairman nor president of Chelsea, and Rezart Taçi was the indirect owner of Parma but not chairman, as well as the speedy C2C was declined, the cat should renamed as "Parma Calcio 1913 chairmen and investors" (but not "Parma Calcio 1913 chairmen") Matthew_hk tc 22:42, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. Matthew_hk tc 22:49, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment -- I am far from sure whether being a football club owner is notable, but this is clearly part of an established tree. If kept, rename to match siblings: we certainly do not need separate categories for those with other ownership roles. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:58, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment -- the cat was speedy moved on 16 April 2017 17:12 (UTC) although an user opposed the moved . Matthew_hk tc 09:32, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @BrownHairedGirl and Armbrust: Do you have any idea how this category can have been moved by Cydebot per CFDS while it wasn't nominated for speedy deletion? Marcocapelle (talk) 05:36, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  1. [1] 09:25, 10 April 2017: categ tagged for cfd/s by User:LazyJob
  2. [2] 09:30, 10 April 2017 categ listed at CFD/S by User:LazyJob
  3. [3] 09:42, 10 April 2017 CFD/S listing modified by User:LazyJob
  4. [4] 14:18, 12 April 2017 this categ one of a big batch removed from CFD/S for processing by admin User:Fayenatic london
  5. [5] 14:18, 12 April 2017 this categ one of a big batch added to job queue at CFD/S for by admin User:Fayenatic london
  6. [6] 14:28, 12 April 2017 Cydebot moved page Category:Parma F.C. presidents to Category:Parma Calcio 1913 presidents: Robot - Speedily moved per CFDS.
Note the 4th diff. By the time listing was removed from CFD/S, no objections were listed.
So the move on the 10th looks procedurally perfect. Just checking what happened on the 16th. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 06:03, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, I checked the second move, on the 16th April. Here are some diffs:
  1. [7] 19:24, 3 April: Matthew_hk tagged the categ Category:Parma Calcio 1913 presidents for speedy renaming to Category:Parma Calcio 1913 chairmen
  2. [8] 19:26, 13 April 2017 Matthew_hk lists the categ at WP:CFD/S
  3. [9] 00:26, 14 April 2017 User:Fayenatic london queries the proposal, suggesting it should be "chairmen and investors"
  4. [10] 00:38, 14 April 2017 Matthew hk appears (in poor English) to accept he proposal
  5. [11] 22:33, 15 April 2017 Matthew_hk modified the speedy tag to change it to a full CFD
  6. [12] 22:42, 15 April 2017 Matthew_hk listed the category here at WP:CFD
  7. [13] 14:40, 16 April 2017 Fayenatic london removes the listing from CFD/S for processing
  8. [14] 14:48, 16 April 2017 Fayenatic london lists the categ at CFD/W for proessing as Category:Parma Calcio 1913 presidents to Category:Parma Calcio 1913 chairmen and investors -- exactly as Matthew_hk has nominated it
  9. [15] 15:20, 16 April 2017 Cydebot moved page Category:Parma Calcio 1913 presidents to Category:Parma Calcio 1913 chairmen and investors: Robot - Speedily moved per CFDS.
So, what happened is simple.
Matthew_hk made a speedy nomination. An objection suggested a different rename target. Matthew_hk accepted the change. So the CFD was good to roll, unless there were any further objections (which there were not).
But rather than wait for the speedy to be processed, Matthew_hk opened this discussion, and falsely asserted that the speedy C2C was declined. It wasn't.
However, Matthew_hk failed to leave a note at the CFD/S listing. So nobody looking at CFD/S had any reason to believe that situation was other than as described there: alternative rename suggested, alternative rename accepted by nominator.
And Matthew_hk also failed to leave here any diffs of the speedy, or a copy of the speedy discussion.
So Fayenatic london correctly went ahead and processed the speedy.
The end result is:
A/ Matthew_hk wasted their own time and everyone else's by opening an un-needed full discussion on a speedy which they knew was proceeding
B/ Matthew_hk expressed bewilderment here[16] that speedy move they had asked for went ahead with a change which they had accepted
C/ I wasted half an hour of my life trying to unravel the story of Matthew_hk's incompetenjt, uncommunicative duplication of process.
That's 30 minutes of my life I won't get back.
Somebody else please close this. I don't feel able to do so without a long list of expletives. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 06:53, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Ottoman caravanserais in Macedonia[edit]

The result of the discussion was: Rename. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:51, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename, the parent Category:Caravanserais parent is subdivided by country, not by region (and it doesn't contain "Ottoman" either). The subject of all three articles in the category is in Skopje, hence in the republic of Macedonia. Alternatively upmerge this to Category:Ottoman architecture, Category:Cultural history of the Republic of Macedonia and Category:Caravanserais per WP:SMALLCAT. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:54, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. The entire Macedonia tree structure needs a hard look. Too much sloppy naming present. Laurel Lodged (talk) 08:20, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Federal question jurisdiction case law[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure). Marcocapelle (talk) 05:41, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge/delete Another user has moved all of the pages in Category:Federal question jurisdiction case law to Category:United States federal question jurisdiction case law. It appears that Category:United States federal question jurisdiction case law is a better and more precise name. There is no longer any use or need for Category:Federal question jurisdiction case law. MrLalala (talk) 14:05, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge I agree with the nominator's rationale completely. This category is unnecessary and redundant. 2602:306:BD89:F550:98AD:B7CE:DD3C:B031 (talk) 14:05, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge -- It may surprise Americans that USA is not the only federation in the world, so that the subject category is ambiguous. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:53, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge, with the understanding that recreation is appropriate if (1) the term "federal question jurisdiction" appears in case law for some other federation, and (2) a category is created for this kind of case law in that federation. In such a case, we should recreate the category and use it as a parent for the USA subcategory and the other country subcategory. Nyttend (talk) 01:28, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch works[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge all to Category:Works about the Dutch East India Company‎ but also rename the last to Category:History books about Dutch colonialism (to fit within Category:History books about colonialism) merge the last to the existing Category:History books about the Dutch Empire (since Dutch colonialism and Dutch Empire overlap so closely). – Fayenatic London 23:07, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge/rename (possibly after some purging) per WP:OCASSOC, "relating to" is too vague. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:07, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't have an objection to this alternative rename, which makes the scope of the category broader. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:06, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
