The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:28, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:NONDEF, neither of the people in the category are well-known as a saint. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:14, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete One of hundreds of bad pages made by a now blocked user. funplussmart (talk) 21:47, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep per DENY. NPASR if an editor in good standing agrees with nomination rationale. Primefac (talk) 16:22, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Out of date (missing entries); does not comply with current naming convention which, of necessity, includes the word "cricket" in the title; lacks relevant categories. Scribbles by The Scribbler (talk) 15:32, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as this user has been blocked as a sock and created the needless new category to prove a point. Their new category should be deleted as a G5 instead. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:01, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Calendars of Indian regions[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 02:13, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:OVERLAPCAT, every of these calendars is tied to a particular Indian region, categorizing these festivals by calendar and region is mere duplication. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:15, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Calendars of Asian countries[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: no consensus. Good Ol’factory (talk) 02:14, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename per WP:OVERLAPCAT, every of these calendars is tied to a particular country, categorizing these festivals by calendar and country is mere duplication. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:02, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Just because an event occurs in a country doesn't mean that it will be set by said country's historical calendar. We need to keep both, as this is an important distinction to make. SuperChris (talk) 18:59, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Tentative oppose. Some of the members are religious observances which are not usually regarded as festivals. --Paul_012 (talk) 04:08, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also, I notice that the nominator hasn't proposed any action for the parent Category:Observances on non-Gregorian calendars. If the individual categories aren't retained, the content needs to also be upmerged into the parent to avoid losing the association. --Paul_012 (talk) 04:15, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Many of these would be candidates for re-categorising into Category:Observances held on the full moon. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:46, 4 November 2018 (UTC) I've gone ahead and added articles to said category. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:54, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
