The result of the discussion was: rename, and no problem with purging the contents as appropriate. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:30, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename to align to a more common format in the tree of Category:People by organization. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:08, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As creator, I have no problem with this move. —swpbT go beyond 20:02, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment -- Chatham House is a respected British thinktank on foreign affairs. There certainly should be a category, but it would be much better if this category (perhaps renamed) could become a container, with the articles moved into subcats. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:20, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Purge (e.g. to remove Keynes whose article doesn't mention Chatham House - see WP:DNWAUC) preferably into a container category and rename. DexDor (talk) 20:41, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename as WP:SOFTDELETE, i.e. without prejudice to re-creating if and when this would be useful. – Fayenatic London 06:28, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: expand scope and rename. By adding the topic articles Adaptive clothing and Locking clothing to the category, the size of the category gets a bit better. Consequence of the proposal is also that the parent category needs to become Category:Clothing by function instead of Category:Clothing retailers. Marcocapelle (talk) 15:32, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:02, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Templates in both categories are all navigational boxes Hhkohh (talk) 13:28, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete; contents appear to be appropriately categorized elsewhere. Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:01, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Was created by a user blocked for creating inappropriate pages; duplicate of Category:Australian soccer players. I suggest we redirect it. All pages in this category are already categorized in its duplicate. L293D ( • ) 12:07, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • merge to Category:Australian soccer players then delete pointless Hhkohh (talk) 13:30, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge then delete This category name would certainly be confusing as "football" in Australia almost always means the Australian Football League, not A-League soccer, even though this category seems to have A-League soccer players in it. – numbermaniac 14:11, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - all are already in Category:Australian soccer players. Oculi (talk) 17:06, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge and then abolish this -- The correct noun is soccer. Football there means Australian rules football, so that this category has a misleading title. Alternatively it should be left as a disambiguation category, pointing also to the Australian-rules sport to prevent inadvertent re-creation and repopulation. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:24, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:59, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The destination category seems far larger than this one, and it looks like these two topics are effectively identical in terms of categorising articles into one or the other. Should we merge this into the larger category? – numbermaniac 09:27, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Adaptive clothing companies of Canada[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:57, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category seems rather narrow at the moment. Its parent category, Category:Adaptive clothing companies, only has one article - the same article that is in this category. I don't think we need a country-specific category if its parent category is far from cluttered. – numbermaniac 08:27, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nominator. There aren't any other adaptive clothing companies but one at the moment....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 11:09, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:52, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support- clearly, a category containing just one article doesn't need a subcategory containing the same article. Reyk YO! 06:14, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: no consensus. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:31, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:SMALLCAT: there was ever only one person to hold this position. Constantine 18:19, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per WP:SMALLCAT as part of series. Issues around the legitimacy (or othrwise) of the title can be noted in the category header and in the text of the relevant articles. I don't like the idea of en.wp categories being culled based on POV about the legitimacy of a de facto government, however much I dislike the regime in question. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 00:54, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was:  Relisted at 2018 OCT 16 CFD. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:36, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Overcategorization and inaccurate. E.g. Cro-Mags don't really perform Hindu music. Upmerge as appropriate. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 07:17, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep Currently 4 articles have this category. 3 either have citations or discuss ISKCON influence. The Cro-Mag article might not fit in this category. Hare Krishna topics do not belong mixed with general Hindu topics as people interested in Hinduism generally do not want Hare Krishna topics and vice versa. Blue Rasberry (talk) 00:33, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge to Category:Performers of Hindu music per WP:SMALLCAT, after removal of Cro-Mag only 3 articles left. While some people may not like it, Hare Krishna is regarded to be a Hinduist movement. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:22, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
