Nominator's rationale: Created by blocked user Caftaric. Subcategorization of euryhaline fish by taxonomic rank and by edibility seems excessive. I am not sure whether being euryhaline is "defining enough" itself for categorization (see its parent category Category:Euryhaline fish), and so would like to discuss what should be done with the 33 articles currently categorized within Category:Euryhaline fish genera if it is deleted. Hyperik talk 21:29, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Having too many ways in which an article can be categorized tends to lead to incomplete categorization (and a cost of categorization that probably exceeds its benefit). DexDor (talk) 06:59, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Category of defunct task force that never really got off the ground. This topic was too specific begin with.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  20:11, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as nominated.
This appears to arise from WP:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Politics/Corporatism, which was proposed by @Mr. Guye and closed as "archive". It makes sense to delete the categories.
However, Category:Corporatism task force articles has 31 subcategories. It would make no sense to delete this parent category, while leaving the subcategories in place.
That could be changed by amending the nom .... but the categories are populated by {{WikiProject Politics|corporatism=yes}.
So all these categories would be emptied only by disabling the corporatism flag in the {{WikiProject Politics}}. However, that would require a consensus at WT:POLITICS, and I see no discussion of this there.
I suggest that the nom take this issue to WT:POLITICS. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 05:20, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
