Nominator's rationale: The pornographers category is not otherwise subdivided by ethnicity, and combining authors, actors, directors, businessmen, and tech people together as "Jewish pornographers" together strikes me as...suspect. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 16:58, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • DO NOT Delete Why? Read the article titled Triple-exthnics - Nathan Abrams on Jews in the American porn industry published in "Jewish Quarterly" (Winter 2004 - Number 196). [1] It states in part that "...secular Jews have played (and still continue to play) a disproportionate role throughout the adult film industry in America..." and explores reasons why this may be so. In the opinion of the ("half-")Jew writing here, the facts probably reflect the strong sex-negative currents within Christianity, as examined in a prize-winning book by a Protestant minister titled Sexual Liberation: The Scandal of Christendom (Praeger 2007). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.232.63.145 (talk) 02:39, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete not a defining characteristic, I note that Category:Pornography has no religious sub-categories nor can I find say a category for Christian pornographers. Note that I made a duplice cfd seconds after Rosecelese which I've now removed! Doug Weller talk 17:06, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nominator and User:Doug Weller. Being Jewish is not a defining characteristic of pornographers. JIP | Talk 23:33, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 03:15, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above. Does not meet WP:EGRS in my opinion, as I cannot see how Jewish religion or ethnicity would have an impact on pornography. Zerach (talk) 14:28, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy delete per WP:G4 - Recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion. This is pretty much a recreation of Category:Jewish American pornographers, which was deleted 6 months ago: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 May 8#Category:American ethnicity pornographers. Wikipedians contributing under a Creative Commons license[edit]

Nominator's rationale: This is a follow-up to this discussion, which resulted in the parent category being named Category:Wikipedians contributing under a Creative Commons license. The rationale for renaming is the same as before: Creative Commons (CC) is the organization, and contributions are made under a CC license. My first preference, however, is deletion because: (1) this category is "over-organized" to the point of frustrating navigation, with 7 containers being used to organize a total of 9 downstream child categorise; and (2) CC license type (e.g. CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-ND) is a more meaningful way of splitting the category than CC license version number. If deleted, upmerging is not required as all contents are already otherwise categorized. (Pining 3/4 categories' creator, User:HarJIT) -- Black Falcon (talk) 16:35, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Since I was pinged: I don't really remember my motivation from four years ago, but what I do recall is that the category tree was a mess, with CC-BY templates categorising as contributing under CC-BY-SA (I think it was). I was making some attempts to at least make it accurate (and in the meantime apparently subst'ing on my userpage—now commented out).
That's actually why you have the duplicitous e.g. Category:Wikipedians contributing under CC BY-SA 1.0 and Category:Wikipedians contributing under Dual License with CC-BySA-1.0: the former was previously misleadingly used by the CC-BY templates, and the latter by the actual BY-SA templates. I did try to get at least some of the CC-BY ones categorised correctly, but had to request a template editor to do so in some cases due to protection. Again: this is all from memory.
Presumably I thought that these three categories were sensible at the time, but I couldn't possibly comment now. --HarJIT (talk) 21:22, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:OCAWARD and WP:NONDEF, this is not an exceptionally famous prize that really defines the recipients like e.g. the Nobel prize does. There is no need to listify, the article World Food Prize already contains a list of laureates. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:06, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Keep (as creator): I agree that the prize is not well-known in general, but it does seem to be very important in this field. Scanning through several of the laureates, the prize is mentioned in the first paragraph of most, sometimes in the first sentence, suggesting that it is in fact a defining characteristic. Rigadoun (talk) 17:39, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment I don’t know enough about the topic to vote one way or another, but I’d imagine that Rigadoun, as the creator of the category, would hold an inherent bias/conflict of interest in voting, no? KirkCliff2 (talk) 16:02, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Addendum: I fully assume you acted in good faith, Rigadoun, but preferential bias in such cases is human nature, thus preventing you from voting objectively. KirkCliff2 (talk) 16:22, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Of course, that's why I noted that I was the creator. It's been a while since I've been active here, but I thought it was common to comment on such proposals. Or is it just that I shouldn't mark it as keep, but rather a comment? Rigadoun (talk) 02:51, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as non-defining (e.g. for Bob Dole) and for all the usual reasons that lists are better for things like this (e.g. coping better when the prize is awarded jointly to 2 people) - and as there's a list there doesn't need to be a category as well (note: CLN does not say that if you have one you need to have the others). The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 09:24, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Consistency with main article, which has remained stable at Lao cuisine since 2011. (Lao and Laotian are both adjectives for Laos, though sometimes a distinction is made where Laotian refers more to the modern country and nationality, while Lao is used more for historical/cultural stuff.) The category was originally at Category:Lao cuisine, but was manually moved by Armbrust in 2013. Paul_012 (talk) 07:52, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
