The result of the discussion was: rename (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:31, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Other ENwiki articles about Ottoman Empire vilayets use pre-1923 names, like "Constantinople Vilayet" and "Adrianople Vilayet", so this should use "Angora" instead of Ankara. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:48, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: manual merge to and Category:Working class in the United States or other appropriate targets. – Fayenatic London 21:24, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Most of the articles in this category have little to nothing to do with the working class. They are neighborhoods in US cities, accents, books etc. There is no White American working class article and even white working class is a redirect to a larger article about the working class in the United States. The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 07:51, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCAT. This is a triple intersection of municipality, sexuality, and political office. Also per a recent discussion that deleted the San Francisco categry. Dual upmerge to appropriate sub-categories including Category:LGBT city councillors from the United States, and Category:LGBT people from Illinois.
Also nominated: Category:LGBT members of the Los Angeles City Council, Category:LGBT members of the Minneapolis City Council, Category:LGBT members of the Minneapolis City Council, Category:LGBT members of the New York City Council, Category:LGBT members of the San Diego City Council, Category:LGBT members of the Seattle City Council.--TM 13:53, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support all. An intersection too far. Oculi (talk) 19:13, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support triples are almost always a bad idea. Laurel Lodged (talk) 08:15, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: no action required (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:30, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Because to understand recursion, you must first understand recursion. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 01:44, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science[edit]

The result of the discussion was: rename for now without prejudice to later recreation (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 08:01, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:CAT in general
The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science is part of the UK government and I have no conceptual objection to a government agency category. In practice though all 14 articles here are ships, similar to Category:Ships of the United States Bureau of Fisheries. This is really just a truth in advertising nomination so the name of the category reflects the actual contents. (If passed, I'm happy to update the parent categories.) - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:20, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename - specific names are much better. This is a set category of ships (apart from one article). No objection to eponymous topic category Category:Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science for Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science if content can be found eg a people subcat. Oculi (talk) 11:13, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment The main article indicates that CEFAS has 4 UK laboratories (which are covered in the main article); one current and various past research ships; 2 laboratories in the Arabian Penninsula. There is scope for populating it with more content; also one for CEFAS people: there is a list called alumni in the main article, though it may be past staff rather than alumni. CEFAS is an executive agency under DEFRA (a UK ministry). Peterkingiron (talk) 17:43, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm certainly not opposed to recreating the parent category if/when enough content exists to populate it. (Alternatively, I could create a ship subcategory now but it would drain the current category of everything but the main article.) RevelationDirect (talk) 22:16, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Post Close Note The renamed category has been reparented into ship categories. RevelationDirect (talk) 19:40, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
