  • Propose merging
Category:American sportswomen of Indian descent to Category:American women of Indian descent / Category:American sportspeople of Indian descent
Category:American sportsmen of Indian descent to Category:American men of Indian descent / Category:American sportspeople of Indian descent
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCEGRS, these are an unnecessary quadruple intersection of nationality, gender, profession, and ancestry. User:Namiba 17:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: speedy delete per WP:G8. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:50, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Category which was only used by {{diambiguation-stop}} deleted after Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2016 September 10#Template:Disambiguation-stop. While I believe this falls under WP:G8 as a [category] populated by deleted or retargeted template, however the reviewing admin did not agree so I'm taking it here. The result of the discussion was: delete; merge Clone Wars (Star Wars) to Category:Star Wars. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:06, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Most of the pages in this category are mere crufty redirects. The one notable page, Clone Wars (Star Wars), should be merged into the parent category, the rest removed. Per WP:SMALLCAT, this category does not need to exist. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:07, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:04, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: User:95.49.166.194 requested this category rename at 12:31, 17 June 2020 in a wrong place (with the page move requests), with reason "as in Nokia Nseries". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:48, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Historic districts in Charles Town, West Virginia[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:03, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Small category without a realistic chance of becoming not-small. All historic districts on National Register of Historic Places listings in Jefferson County, West Virginia already have articles, so nobody can write another unless another district is created. Note that the county list associates five districts with Charles Town, but two are out in the country, not in the city. It's rare for historic districts to be created, most local districts aren't notable (if they are, they're probably important enough to get NR status), and when the county's already been so carefully surveyed for historic sites (it has the third highest number of sites statewide, despite not being particularly populous), it's not very likely that an additional area in Charles Town will qualify as historic that wasn't noticed previously. Finally, note that this is not part of a comprehensive series; the merge target is, but Category:Historic districts in West Virginia by city has only five subcategories, and cities like Parkersburg (three districts), Lewisburg (three districts), and Huntington (five districts) don't have their own categories. The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:02, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING (WP:OCAWARD)
The Kasper Salin Prize is a Swedish award for architecture established in 1962 and run by the Swedish Association of Architects to honor architect Kasper Salin. Of the 19 buildings in this category, 14 don't mention the award at all and 5 mention it in passing. Given the need for more work on the Swedish articles, I can't say for sure whether this award is defining, there's nothing in English Wikipedia that makes that seem likely. There wasn't a list already so I created one here in the main article so no information is lost. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:28, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:01, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING (WP:OCAWARD)
The Tang Prizes are a Taiwanese/ROC set of awards started in 2014 to recognize the world's most prominent people in Sustainable Development, Biopharmaceutical Science, Sinology, and Rule of Law. That combination of specialties creates an mishmash of people unlikely to aid navigation including energy efficiency expert Arthur H. Rosenfeld, Nobel winning cancer researcher James P. Allison, Columbia University Asian Studies professor Wm. Theodore de Bary, and Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland. The articles tend to mention the award in passing with many other honors so it seems nondefining. There is already a list of the winners here in the main article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:28, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
