  • Comment If you are going to do this you need to merge into the relevant occupational categories (Category:Sri Lankan people by occupation) as well, otherwise the category tree structure that has been built up over many years will be destroyed by the monoculturalist dogma that we can't categorise anything by ethnicity in Wikipedia.--Obi2canibe (talk) 12:56, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Merge per nom, these categories are unrelated intersections. It is not true that we can't categorise anything by ethnicity. We can diffuse by characteristics that are related to ethnicity, e.g. Category:Sri Lankan Malay activists could be very appropriate if there are activists advocating the civil rights of the Malay community.
