The result of the discussion was: delete. bibliomaniac15 04:37, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Only used on two pages. The mainspace and the template which I've nominated for deletion. There are no articles outside the main subject for there to be a category as of yet. This category as the template was created way too early. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 22:21, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom (t · c) buidhe 18:14, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, meanwhile three more articles have been added but they are not about Magdalena Andersson. Marcocapelle (talk) 04:31, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:LGBT nightclubs in North Carolina[edit]

The result of the discussion was: procedural close. Consensus seems to be to open up a larger discussion for the whole cat tree for Category:LGBT nightclubs in the United States. bibliomaniac15 05:33, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Single article amongst two categories. WP:SMALLCAT. –Aidan721 (talk) 21:28, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep (disclaimer: cat creator). WP:SMALLCAT says: Avoid categories that, by their very definition, will never have more than a few members, unless such categories are part of a large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme. These cats exist because they are part of such a scheme; see the parent cats. Armadillopteryx 00:21, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 04:33, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Contains only one article. WP:SMALLCAT. Also lacks proper parent categories. –Aidan721 (talk) 19:00, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: See Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2021_December_1#Category:Wikipedia_featured_article_removal_candidates below, this is unused, obsolete, and unlikely to be ever used again. Hog Farm Talk 16:58, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: As noted at Wikipedia_talk:Featured_article_review#Worth_giving_a_periodic_check?, this has been superseded by Category:Wikipedia featured article review candidates, is empty, and will never be used due to process changes. Hog Farm Talk 16:24, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Just like Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2021 November 24#Category:Wikipedia featured article review candidates (closed), this is another category that has not been used since Template:Article history was developed in 2008. See Taming talk page clutter and User:Maralia/FA templates (Maralia helped enormously in the effort when User:Gimmetrow and I build article milestones on Every Single FA). Auditoriums in India[edit]

The result of the discussion was: merge one, no consensus on the other (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 04:48, 9 December 2021 (UTC)----[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Merge to common missing parent category. Both categories currently only have 2 articles each and Category:Auditoriums contains some additional Indian auditoriums that are outside of those two cities. –Aidan721 (talk) 16:00, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support for Chennai - Kolkata now has several more articles. Should also be merged to other current parent ("Buildings and structures in Chennai"). Have created missing parent as there are quite a few others that would fit into it. Grutness...wha? 22:51, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Borderline recreation of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 August 14#Category:Wikipedians who have not edited for a significant amount of time and/or Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2013 January 22#Category:New Wikipedians. Still no more useful then it was in 2009 or 2013, especially given that it only contains two users, one of whom has been blocked for CIR since 2019, and the other of whom has been editing since January 2020 and so is IMO not new. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:45, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question This category is populated by a userbox template, {{Novice user}}; are you proposing the template be deleted too? Normally the template and cat go hand-in-hand, and we would not have one without the other. And normally we give wide latitude to self-identified user categories. UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:51, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm not proposing the template be deleted, just the category. The claim that we give wide latitude to self-identified user categories is not true, as there are in fact strict standards that user categories should follow, which this category IMO does not (which is why very similar categories were 2009 and again in 2013). Also, there is no expectation that userboxes should populate user categories; see WP:USERBOXCAT * Pppery * it has begun... 16:04, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Contains only one article which is the subject for the category. WP:SMALLCAT. –Aidan721 (talk) 02:24, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose deletion. Note I added several. See main article for topic for a list of notable examples, most currently redlinks whose significance as topics is supported by references. There will also exist numerous specific A-frames listed on the National Register of Historic Places and numerous historic districts which include one or more A-frames which are not mentioned in that list, have yet to be created as articles and/or added to the category. This is not "small with no potential for growth" and it is also a natural subcategory of a category (actually two categories) which are appropriately subdivided; either reason suffices to explain why wp:SMALLCAT does not apply. Doncram (talk) 10:41, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Searching on "A-frame listed on National Register of Historic Places" yields this 2013 article about Park City, Utah considering historic listing for numerous A-frames. It also yields this Washington State Dept of Archeology and Historic Preservation page covering 9 specific A-frames in Washington, with an extensive bibliography that is relevant. "A-frame houses" and "A-frame buildings" are a major topic, and numerous examples are listed or are candidates for listing on historic registers, and are Wikipedia-notable, so retaining the category makes sense. --Doncram (talk) 22:01, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:R.F.C. Seraing (1922) players. bibliomaniac15 04:37, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Boussu Dour Borinage became R.F.C. Seraing (1922), so we should merge this category to that one. Paul Vaurie (talk) 00:46, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: non-defining for most articles, e.g., Phonograph record. fgnievinski (talk) 00:25, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. I think the nominator wants the category to be deleted, but have contents merged(?) to article Hip hop production, an article which has existed since 2005. If they mean that the items in the category should be included as a list in that article, I am sure that could be done by anyone as a part of normal editing. A list within the article could also include references, additional info, pictures, etc. about each item, and could include redlink items. However, the guideline wp:CLNT explains how categories and lists (and navigation templates) are complementary, and the existence of one does not suggest the other should be deleted. Mention of "non-defining" for some/most articles suggests nominator thinks category should be removed from some but not all articles, which is not consistent with deletion of the category. Overall I am confused by this nomination. --Doncram (talk) 21:54, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep (1) this is not an article in category space (2) there is ample content. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:17, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
