The result of the discussion was: delete the subcategories and rename the main category to Category:Lists of Nobel laureates by ethnicity. – Fayenatic London 13:45, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: per WP:OCEGRS. Not only is it obvious in nearly all cases that there is no relation between "ethnicity" and "winning nobel prizes" (the very few instances might be the occasional peace prize), but there are no reliable sources which cover this as a notable topic either (the only thing I can find is single-event coverage of the head of the Nobel Committee saying that there will, indeed, be no gender or ethnicity quotas...). That would leave the lists, but 1) some of these might fail LISTN and 2) these are already categorised in Category:Lists of Nobel laureates anyway.

Also delete the subcategories, for the same concerns, and on top for all safe one due to obvious SMALLCAT issues. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 19:58, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Works about the Bangladesh Liberation War. (non-admin closure) Extraordinary Writ (talk) 06:07, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, currently only one article. A double merge is not needed, the article is already in Category:War video games. Marcocapelle (talk) 13:10, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Burial sites of Dynasties of Ireland[edit]

The result of the discussion was: split to existing categories. I have added "see also" links between the current sub-cats.– Fayenatic London 08:29, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: split, having three categories seems a bit too abundant. The split between royalty and nobility is clear, but "dynasty" does not add much. If kept, then rename (Dynasties -> dynasties). Marcocapelle (talk) 09:50, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep but merge in the two subcategories. In Ireland there were numerous kings ruling the equivalent of a county (or a few of them), all (in theory) under a High King. The Anglo-Norman dynasties took over some of these petty kingdoms, but may not have called themselves kings, because their sovereign was the king of England (at least in theory). In Ireland and Germany (HRE) the distinction between royal and noble is far from clear. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:24, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the distinction is too slender. Not an aid to navigation. The Butler dynasty was noble but not royal. Laurel Lodged (talk) 10:12, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge all to Category:Burial sites of Irish noble families, or sub-cats. The actual articles cover burials much too late to claim to be "royal", with the exception of Brian Boru, whose burial site is uncertain. Johnbod (talk) 11:49, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. – Fayenatic London 08:20, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: merge, redundant category layer with only one subcategory. If not merged, then rename (Royal -> royal). Marcocapelle (talk) 09:30, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 00:10, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: This and the categories also nominated form a tree of overly specific and unique-type subcats funneling into just one page, Ron Wilson (American politician). Little to no opportunity for expansion.
