Nominator's rationale: per strong consensus at 2021_January_4#Category:Honorary_graduates_of_Keele_University and previous cfds, such as here (2013), here (2019), here (2019) and here (2020). Oculi (talk) 22:54, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Merge. (non-admin closure) Asmodea Oaktree (talk) 17:15, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Both categories nominated for merging have just two articles in them. For the time being, there is no room for expansion as there are only two LDS temples in both countries, and temples are only rarely constructed. I suggest merging to the parents and deleting Category:Temples (LDS Church) in the United Kingdom, which contains only Category:Temples (LDS Church) in England. (There is a related discussion here.) Nominator's rationale: Not a notable enough search term - albums frequently come out in multiple formats. The format field was removed from album infobox therefore the purpose of having this category is now questionable. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 22:40, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Category about a person whose article was deleted. আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 05:52, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:24, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, this concerns categorization by 3rd and 4th level administrative divisions of Greece, leading to a endless series of single-article or 2-article categories. The proposal is to merge to 2nd level administrative division, except cities and larger towns, in this case except Heraklion (151,000 people). This is follow-up on this earlier nomination. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:35, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - all the ones I've looked at only mention place of birth (which is not defining) so the whole structure seems dubious to me, and better upmerged into something simpler. Oculi (talk) 13:31, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge as a good start — This is another that could benefit from going one level higher, Category:People from Crete, because there are so few candidates. Should be categorizing from the top down, not the bottom up. Most of these aren't notable for having been anywhere other than Category:Greek people by occupation, but we can prune.
    William Allen Simpson (talk) 15:18, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom. These categories are for small villages and settlements (most with only a small number of residents) and are unlikely to ever have many articles within them. They can be recreated on an as needed basis if there ends up being "enough" articles to populate them. Until then, this merger makes sense to me. Grk1011 (talk) 15:03, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Saturn Award for Best Film winners[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:22, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: There seems to be a recent trend to create navboxes and categories for winners of every category from every award in the entertainment industry of late, which is leading to template clutter and overcategorization. I'm nominating this batch as failing WP:OCAWARD. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is somewhat of a follow-up of an earlier CfD that began here. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:35, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEF), in the articles the award is merely mentioned in passing, in some articles it is not even mentioned at all. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete All Doesn't appear defining in the articles. Contents are already listified at Saturn Award for Best Film and linked pages. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:43, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The Saturn Award is one of the most notable awards for genre films. I don't see why we should categorize Academy Award=winning films, but disregard other notable awards. Dimadick (talk) 21:31, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about whether the award is notable but whether winning the award, however notable it may be, is a defining aspect of the film per WP:DEFINING. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:02, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:OCAWARD & WP:NONDEF, per nom. I agree with the nominator's response to the "keep" comment basically repeating what is often said about honorary degrees and various other awards that ought not be categorized per WP:OCAWARD. Category:Album chart usages for Canadian Albums[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:20, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category has been marked to not delete even if empty, but I'm not sure what it is used for. Template:Album chart has usages for the RPM and Billboard versions of the chart (see Category:Album chart usages for Canada and Category:Album chart usages for BillboardCanada, respectively), with the transition occurring in late 1996 according to the List of number-one albums of 1996 (Canada). Perhaps a correction was made that emptied this category and entries moved to one of the other two. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 08:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: WP:NONDEFINING (initially WP:OVERLAPCAT and later WP:OCAWARD)
According to the main article, the Order of Danica Hrvatska is the 14th most important medal in Croatia and the articles treat it like the 14th most important award, mentioning it only in passing. The award is given out for many reasons and the 4 articles consist of a war hero, a sculptor, an entrepreneur, and a theologian, so there is no common thread that could aid navigation. There wasn't a list so I created one right here in the main article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:39, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:19, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:NONDEFINING (WP:OCAWARD and WP:OVERLAPCAT)
The Neshan-e Aqdas was an award from the Qajar dynasty of Iran given to both domestic and foreign recipients. 4 of the 6 articles here were given to themselves and are already somewhere under Category:Qajar dynasty. The other 2 articles are Khazʽal Ibn Jabir and Amanullah Khan, one of which mentions the award in the lede and the other not at all, so it doesn't seem generally defining. There wasn't a list so I created one right here in the main article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:39, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Jewish women cinematographers[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:18, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Single-entry category for a non-defining characteristic. The intersection of gender with occupation is appropriate, as this is an occupation where women have historically been underrepresented (and to some extent still are today), but triple-intersecting that with Jewishness isn't of any particular significance — as witness the fact that there isn't a parent category for Category:Jewish cinematographers, and the fact that this category has existed for almost six years without ever having a second woman actually added to it even though there are surely other Jewish women in this field.
