Nominator's rationale: WP:SMALLCAT, only article is Wayward Pines and I don't think there are any more TV series in the target category. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 23:43, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 17:41, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:SMALLCAT, contains only Clock of the Long Now and is highly unlikely to be expanded. I'm not sure where else in Category:Future that article should go, apart from Category:Long Now Foundation where it is already included. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 23:39, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. – Fayenatic London 07:38, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Conforms to MOS:JOBTITLES. Woko Sapien (talk) 17:29, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - per nom. The earlier ones this week are as yet unopposed. Oculi (talk) 20:44, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: The last three should probably have the the dropped, e.g. Lists relating to prime ministers of India, though I rather question whether these are appropriate categorisations. As an aside, Lists related to the Prime Minister of India wouldn't be incorrect if it covered items such as Official residences of the Prime Minister of India, but that is not the case. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:51, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've modified the proposal to remove the "the"s. --Woko Sapien (talk) 21:35, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Disney+ series ID same as Wikidata[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge the two and rename (note that both categories are empty while closing the discussion) (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 17:43, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Merge and rename the category to Category:Disney+ ID same as Wikidata, while there are two different templates, having two different tracking categories for 1 wikidata property seems redundant with the low number of transclusions these templates have combined. {{Wikidata tracking category}} can be set to note the two different templates using the same category. The result of the discussion was: merge. – Fayenatic London 17:56, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • It seems to me that all people who belong to the Coptic Americans should be kept together in a category (even if "descent" is not a fully appropriate name). Marcocapelle (talk) 20:39, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: adding sibling categories
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, – Fayenatic London 16:10, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support all per above discussion. Note that this is my second vote. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:22, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Lynching of Black men accused of assaulting White women[edit]

The result of the discussion was: delete. In case it may be useful, I have listed the current members at Talk:List of lynching victims in the United States. – Fayenatic London 08:47, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: It is generally non-defining as to why a person was lynched/murdered and also subjective in a number of cases. If kept, the category should at least be renamed Category:Lynching of African-American men accused of assaulting women as we do not categorize by race. User:Namiba 14:38, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:NARROWCAT. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete for different reasons. This was the dominant rationale for lynching, and race/sex was central to the narrative. But including accusations in the category name (which by definition are extra-judicial killings not court findings) might unintentionally validate those racist claims. - RevelationDirect (talk) 17:36, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Either enlarge scope to Category:Lynching of African-American men in the United States or upmerge to Category:Lynching deaths in the United States. The reason is not necessary and causes other problems as RevalationDirect suggests. Grutness...wha? 06:29, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would have said disperse to individual state categories, but gather that is unnecessary. Peterkingiron (talk) 11:19, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This is way too narrow of a category. Especially since the very nature of lynchings often meant that it was less than clear in some cases what the victim was actually accused of, and we also at times deal with after the fact disputes of what the accused was accused of.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:42, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete The manner of death is defining, the cause of the killing seems irrelevant. Dimadick (talk) 21:24, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 17:44, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: To disambiguate from Category:Sadaka SC futsal players‎. Unsure whether "women's" or "women" should be used. Nehme1499 12:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep. bibliomaniac15 05:32, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Arent they the same thing? Or am I missing something? Rathfelder (talk) 09:27, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Lettler: these aren't particularly good examples because all three participated in World War II. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:41, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose If someone started in the army in 1935 and left before 1939 they would have not served in WWII, so these are not the same.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:01, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • It seems pretty unlikely that anyone is notable because they joined the army in 1935 and left before the war started. Rathfelder (talk) 16:22, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose It is not unusual for someone to have left service or died before 1939. Dimadick (talk) 21:22, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: withdrawn (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 07:04, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

:* Propose renaming Category:Cowboy culture to Category:Western lifestyle

Nominator's rationale: Rename to title of category's main article as the cowboy is only one aspect of the whole culture or lifestyle which includes Native Americans, gunfighters, homesteaders, US Marshals, US Cavalry, wagon trains, railroads, etc. No Great Shaker (talk) 06:22, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nomination withdrawn – please close. Actually this category is appropriate to the cowboy only; other aspects are or will be categorised elsewhere. No Great Shaker (talk) 07:00, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 17:49, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:SMALLCAT, only 2 entries. Notably, the proposed merge target contains only a subcat layer by nationality. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 06:13, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge for Now With no objection to recreating later if the article count grows. - RevelationDirect (talk) 18:04, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
